Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a sensor for detecting metallic parts, which are a in a housing built-in coil system approach from the outside and where that the signal applied to the coil connections to determine the distance of the metallic part is used by the housing wall.
Sensors of the type mentioned are made as inductive proximity switches known to countless applications. The basic function of such sensors is based on the fact that from a coil system to an evaluating electronics is connected an electromagnetic field is generated, the magnetic component of this electromagnetic field is essential. Become If metallic parts are brought into this field, there is a field disturbance that by means of the coil system on the evaluation electronics. From this A signal is generated by the evaluation electronics, which for subsequent control processes is used. With inductive Proximity switches, this signal consists of a switching process, which then is triggered when a metallic part has a defined distance Switching distance to the coil system.
In steps DE 40 23 529 C2, DE 40 21 164 C1 are proximity switches described, which have only one coil as a coil system, the one Oscillator is connected. The disturbance of the electromagnetic field this Coil influences the oscillation state of the oscillator in such a way that the Oscillator amplitude is affected.
The disadvantage of such arrangements is that both the temperature response of the oscillator as well as the temperature response of the coil system the switching distance influence significantly, and therefore must be compensated for complex.
In contrast to the first mentioned technique, there is the coil system consists of three individual coils that are electromagnetic with each other are coupled. The oscillator is designed as a Meißner oscillator, the The feedback coil of this oscillator consists of two individual coils connected in series exists that have an opposite winding sense. The vibration this oscillator starts when the total voltage of the Feedback coil from the induced voltage of the oscillator circuit is supported.
The advantage of this arrangement is that the oscillator is very steep Swinging characteristic has and can be dimensioned so that it only on Eddy current repercussions of electrically conductive metals reacting in the electromagnetic field of the coil system are introduced. The disadvantage is this solution that no continuous signal from the oscillator as a measure of the Switching distance can be derived, and that the oscillator circuit for a desired frequency must be dimensioned, which is particularly low Frequencies around 30 kHz leads to working with a high number of turns must be in order to achieve a suitable LC ratio.
DE 39 34 593 A1 describes a safety sensor which is an inductive one Proximity switch is formed which has a coil system that consists of three Single coils is formed.
The coils are magnetically coupled to one another, with one coil connected to one Generator is connected while using two coils as receiving coils opposite winding sense connected in series to an operational amplifier are connected. The coil system is constructed coaxially in such a way that Approach of a metallic object to the front part of a Sensor housing the magnetic coupling between the generator field and one Detector coil is affected. By this asymmetrical influence of the a symmetrically constructed coil system results in one in the detector coils Differential voltage, which is electrically amplified as a measure of the switching distance of the actuating metal is evaluable. The advantage of this arrangement is that the number of turns of the generator coil regardless of the desired Frequency is selectable and that an analog output signal for determining the Switching distance is available. However, a disadvantage of this arrangement is that that when using high frequencies the amplitude evaluation alone does not leads to a clear connection between the switching distance and the output signal.
From the documents GB 2137449 A and WO 98/38526 A2 it is known, according to Radar principle to use proximity sensors, the mixer for Use signal conditioning. In such systems, however, special Measures are taken to suppress unwanted signal components.
The object of the invention is, based on a sensor coil system, the has at least one generator-operated generator coil, a solution for one Specify sensor, in particular an inductive proximity switch, the A clear assignment even in the higher frequency range from 100 to 500 kHz the distance of a metallic part to the sensor coil system to the electrical Output signal from the sensor guaranteed.
This object is achieved by the features mentioned in claim 1 solved.
Of particular importance is the use of a mixer that does that of one High-frequency generator sent to the generator coil with the signal from the Detector coil emitted signal mixes. The coil system is designed so that that in the generator coil, which can also be designed as a multiple coil section, generated field flooded a receiver coil assembly. This arrangement is advantageously designed so that two individual coils are connected in series, the are so flooded by the field of the generator coil that in the individual coils induced voltages are present as the voltage difference of the series connection. In a simple design, the coils are coaxially one behind the other arranged, with the generator coil in the middle. An inexpensive Training of the evaluation circuit is that the mixer output with is connected to an integrator which converts the AC voltage present there DC voltage signal transferred. High-frequency influences from interfering fields are effectively suppressed in this way because of the integrator, as a low pass effective, high frequency components suppressed. The coil can be very different be constructed, an equivalent function is that the second and third coil is used as a generator coil and the first coil is used as a detector coil. It is also possible to design a coil as a multiple coil so that the Individual coils in the concentric overall arrangement when current is passed have rectified fields. In this way, detector or Generator coils, which are the same depending on the application and arrangement of the coil system or have opposite magnetic fields. The winding number of two in Series-connected individual coils can be the same as they are different, the windings preferably on a flat support as a flat one Conductor tracks are applied. Printed circuit boards in particular are also used as supports Foils possible. A favorable signal evaluation is possible in that two in Series-connected coils, especially the series connection of two Detector coils, a phase position deviating from 180 ° before interconnection exhibit.
This phase position is preferably influenced by the fact that one of the detector coils ( 2 , 3 ) is electromagnetically coupled to a galvanically isolated winding to which a variable resistor is connected. The mixer output signal is advantageously evaluated as a measure of the switching distance of an inductive proximity switch in that the mean value of the amplitude of the mixer output signal is formed. In a special embodiment, the phase difference of the voltages present at the input of the mixer is evaluated as a measure of the switching distance of an inductive proximity switch. In this case, the mixer output signal is used as a characteristic of a control loop. In another embodiment, the first mixer output signal is fed to a second mixer, a frequency evaluation of the output signal applied to a mixer is advantageously realized in that with at least one mixer a filter or a bandpass filter with a pass frequency that corresponds to an integer multiple of the generator frequency, is electrically connected. The particular advantage of using mixers for inductive proximity switches is, in particular, that in the above-mentioned intermediate frequency / zero mixing, an integrable DC voltage signal is immediately available for the determination of the switching distance after integration of the mixer signal. The choice of suitable coil systems connected to the mixer ensures high temperature stability and thus a high stability of the switching distance detected by the sensor. In this way, the component expenditure and also the adjustment expenditure for the sensor are also considerably reduced, so that a proximity switch provided with a mixer can be manufactured very inexpensively.
The invention is described in more detail using exemplary embodiments.
In Fig. 1 the structure is shown of a sensor. The generator coil 1 is electromagnetically coupled to the detector coils 2 , 3 . The detector coils are connected in series in such a way that the voltages induced in them by the generator coil 1 have opposite signs, so that the difference between the induced voltages is present at the connection point 5 , 6 of the detector coils. This is realized in that the coils 2 , 3 have an opposite winding direction, are connected in series and are flooded in the same direction by the field of the generator coil. The generator coil is connected to the generator 7 at the connection point 4 . The differential voltage is fed to a preamplifier 8 . The generator signal and the preamplified differential signal are connected to the mixing inputs of a four-quadrant mixer 9 (double-balanced mixer). The mixed products of the mixer are fed to an evaluation electronics 10 . The output signal of the evaluation electronics describing the switching distance of the actuating metal 14 , shown here as a metal sheet in the side view, to the coil system is available at the output 12 . The evaluation electronics have an integrator and / or in a special embodiment a bandpass filter, the transmission center frequency of which corresponds to the value of twice the generator frequency. To increase the interference immunity, a second mixer can be used within the evaluation electronics, which is connected on the one hand to the output signal of the generator 7 and on the other hand to the first mixer 9 .
Fig. 2 zeigt die Spulenanordnung in ihrer seitlichen Ansicht. Fig. 2 shows the coil arrangement in its side view. The generator coil 1 is arranged between the detector coils 2 , 3 . The detector coils 2 , 3 are connected in series in such a way that the voltages of the individual coils induced by the generator coil 1 are in phase opposition.
In Fig. 3, a generator coil 1 is shown, which is applied to a circuit board 15 as a conductor track. This coil can be designed both spirally and concentrically with connecting conductor tracks for the individual partial circles.
In FIG. 4, a coil system is shown that consists of two identically performed PCB 15, wherein a generator coil and a detection coil are mounted on each circuit board. The coils on the two printed circuit boards are connected to one another in such a way that by folding the printed circuit boards into or out of the plane up to the parallel position, the coils connected in series with one another receive an identical or opposite winding sense. The sense of winding can also be changed in that coil connection points are crossed 18 with each other. In this arrangement, the generator coils 1 are arranged in the center of the detector coils 2 , 3 . It is also possible to interchange the arrangement so that the detector coils are arranged centrally. The conductor tracks can be applied to a circuit board on both sides.
Fig. 5 shows a printed circuit board 15 on a coil arrangement comprising a detection coil 3, and an auxiliary coil 16, which may consist of only one turn. A short-circuit bridge, preferably a variable resistor, is connected to the connection points of the coil 16 , the value of which can be reduced to zero ohms. This resistance influences the overall characteristic of the coil system and the switching distance of the proximity switch. In FIGS. 2 and 4 it is not shown that the spaces between the coils running parallel to one another are preferably filled by rigid foam plates, which results in a very stable design of the coil arrangement.
