Beim Stapeln von Konservendosen jeglichen Inhalts tritt häufig als Nachteil auf, daß zu Dekorationszwecken, zur Vorratshaltung oder zwecks einer bestimmten Angebotsform in Ladengeschäften, SB - Läden, Θ+C - Lägern, Warenhäusern usw. die Dosen nicht in genügender Menge oder Höhe platzsparend oder aus einem anderen Grund direkt übereinandergestapelt werden können. Die Ursache hierfür ist bei den meisten Konservendosen der tiefer als der Börtelrand (a) liegende Deckel und Boden (b). Dadurch kommt die jeweils obere Dose mit ihrem schmalen Börtelrand nur auf den der unteren Dose zu stehen.
