Abstract

The apparatus includes an input unit (19,20,21,30) over which data packets are fetched from an online data network (24) and printed. The data network is coupled to a bidirectional data link. Falls der Leser sich zu einem Thema, das ihn gerade interessiert, umfassend informieren möchte, muß er eine Vielzahl von Zeitungen und Magazinen erwerben, von denen er sich Informationen zu dem ihn interessierenden Thema erhofft. Gelegentlich wird der Leser nicht einmal feststellen können, ob er überhaupt in dem von ihm erworbenen Druckprodukt die ihn gerade interessierende Information erhalten wird, wenn es sich um eine besondere, schwierig zu erhaltende Information handelt. Somit entstehen für den Verbraucher Kosten für uninteressante Informationen. In entsprechender Weise ist auch die Druckvorrichtung 26 über entsprechende Schnittstellen mit dem Personalcomputer 25 vernetzt, so daß empfangene Daten auch auf den Personalcomputer 25 umleitbar sind, um in ihm gespeichert und weiterverarbeitet zu werden. Dabei kann die Druckvorrichtung 26 auch als normaler Drucker für den Personalcomputer 25 fungieren.
