Stand der TechnikState of the art
Es ist bekannt, elektronische Bauelemente mit Ventilwirkung,
insbesondere Halbleiterdioden, als Verpolschutz in
elektronischen Schaltungen einzusetzen. Siehe zum Beispiel
die Firmendruckschrift "Voltage Regulator Handbook 1982",
Seite 7-39, der Firma National Semiconductor Corporation.
Der Verpolschutz schützt die elektronische Schaltung bei
einer Verpolung der Versorgungsspannung vor Zerstörung. It is known to use electronic components with valve action,
especially semiconductor diodes, as reverse polarity protection in
use electronic circuits. See for example
the company publication "Voltage Regulator Handbook 1982",
Page 7-39, National Semiconductor Corporation.
The reverse polarity protection protects the electronic circuit
polarity reversal of the supply voltage before destruction.
Vorteile der ErfindungAdvantages of the invention
Neben einem sicheren Verpolschutz bietet die
erfindungsgemäße Lösung insbesondere den Vorteil eines
geringen Spannungsabfalles an dem für den Verpolschutz
vorgesehenen Bauelement.
In addition to safe reverse polarity protection, the
solution according to the invention in particular the advantage of a
low voltage drop at the for reverse polarity protection
provided component. This is electronic
Circuits of particular importance with a low
Supply voltage must be supplied. This is
for example, in the case of an airbag system that
a destruction or demolition of the battery with a
limited amount of energy from a reserve energy source
provided storage capacitor must be supplied.

Fig. 1 shows the circuit diagram of an embodiment of the electronic circuit assembly 1. The circuit arrangement 1 has two input connections 2 , 3 , which are connected to the positive connection + UBAT of the vehicle battery 14 ( FIG. 2) or to the negative pole (ground) of the vehicle battery. The emitter terminal of a first transistor T1 is connected to the input terminal 2 , the collector terminal of which is connected to the terminal 3 via a resistor R1. The base terminal of transistor T1 is connected to its collector terminal. The drain of a MOS-FET transistor T2 is connected to the input terminal 2 . The gate of transistor T2 is connected to ground via a resistor R2. The source terminal of the transistor T2 is connected to an output terminal 5 of the electronic circuit arrangement 1 , which is connected to ground via a resistor R3. A capacitor C is connected in parallel with the resistor R3. A terminal of a resistor R4 is connected to the base terminal of the transistor T1. The second connection of the resistor R4 is connected to the base connection of a third transistor T3, the collector connection of which is connected to the gate connection of the transistor T2. The emitter terminal of transistor T3 is connected to the source terminal of transistor T2. A Zener diode D1 is connected between the source terminal of transistor T2 and the collector terminal of transistor T3. Reference number 4 denotes a second output connection of the electronic circuit arrangement 1 , which is connected in parallel to the output connection 5 .
Transistor T3. Dies hat wiederum eine Sperrung des
Transistors T2 zur Folge. Die in C enthaltene Ladung bleibt
dabei im wesentlichen erhalten.
In order to be able to operate a voltage regulator whose control voltage differs only slightly from the input voltage even at a comparatively low input voltage at the input connections 2 , 3 of the circuit arrangement 1, only a very small voltage drop may occur at the component provided for reverse polarity protection. According to the solution according to the invention, such reverse polarity protection is implemented by the drain-source path of transistor T2. The P-channel MOSFET transistor T2 is operated with reverse-polarity drain-source connections. The Zener diode D1 protects the gate-source path of the transistor T2 against overvoltages and clamps the gate-source voltage to a voltage value equal to the full switch-on voltage. The transistors T1 and T3 form a comparator. If the drain-source voltage of the transistor T2 becomes negative, for example a voltage dip, a short circuit to ground or a polarity reversal of the voltage supply, the transistor T3 conducts. This in turn results in the transistor T2 being blocked. The charge contained in C is essentially retained.
lediglich ein Spannungsabfall UDS von etwa 50 mV.In one exemplary embodiment of the invention, a voltage regulator that provided a stabilized voltage of 5 volts could be operated safely with an input voltage of only 6 volts. In this case, only a voltage drop UDS of approximately 50 mV occurred at the transistor T2 of the electronic circuit arrangement 1 provided for reverse polarity protection at a current IDS of approximately 100 mA.
The electronic circuit arrangement 1 designed according to the invention can advantageously be used in an airbag system 10 , which is shown in FIG. 2 as a block diagram. The airbag system 10 comprises at least one acceleration-sensitive sensor 11 , which is connected to a control unit 12 . The control unit 12 is connected to at least one airbag 13 . The airbag system 10 is normally powered by the battery 14 of the vehicle. A capacitor 15 is connected in parallel with the battery 14 and serves as an energy reserve in the event that the battery is disconnected from the airbag system during an accident. The battery 14 is connected to the electronic circuit arrangement 1 which serves to reverse polarity protection and is connected on the output side to a voltage regulator 16 .
Verpolschutz vorgesehenen elektronischen Schaltungsanordnung
1 stellt sicher, daß der im Stromlaufplan folgende
Spannungsregler 16 mit einer möglichst hohen
Eingangsspannung versorgt wird. The sensor 11 supplies output signals corresponding to the acceleration of the vehicle, which are evaluated by the control unit 12 . In the event of a danger to the vehicle occupant, the control unit 12 controls the airbag 13 , which deploys to protect the vehicle occupant. If the battery is disconnected from the airbag system, the airbag system can only be supplied with energy by the previously charged capacitor 15 . The low voltage drop achievable with the invention in the electronic circuit arrangement 1 provided for reverse polarity protection ensures that the voltage regulator 16 following in the circuit diagram is supplied with the highest possible input voltage.
