Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an adjustable optical lens and a resulting beam-optical system.
Conventional lenses are made of glass and are therefore rigid Body. Therefore there is an additional volume for focus adjustment for displacement along the optical axis of a ray necessary.
A method of varying the focal distance of optical lines and optical lenses based on this process, are described in FR-PS 1,543,657. Exemplary be stands the eyepiece of a telescope from a chamber that runs along the optical axis is translucent and there two elasti has translucent walls. The chamber has a verb to a bellows placed on the telescope. This thus formed cavity is with a translucent river liquid filled. The folds can be adjusted using an adjusting screw compress or pull the bellows apart, so that the elastic walls lying on the optical axis to the outside (convex) or pulled inwards (concave). On this way the focal point of the system can be limited continuously adjust from real to virtual.
From DE-OS 20 14 732 is a continuously changeable Lens known, which has clear transparent lenses, from which be at least one made of a rubber-elastic material stands. The space between the panes is clear, filled with refractive liquid. A container is connected to the space between the panes and also filled with the liquid. This container can now be compressed so that the elastic Disc is arched outwards. The curvature increases continuously Lich up or down, depending on whether the container is compressed will or can relax.
Both references describe devices that are operated manually are and therefore have a corresponding space requirement. In the Microsystem technology has a need in the optical signal transmission where such voluminous arrangements no longer exist are capable of sentence. Modern CCD video cameras such. B. only exist from a board with an edge length of about 30 mm. To this came ras there are no adequate lenses. In wide-angle areas Fixed focus lenses are still used today. A focus focus The zooming or zooming is in common with common technology dimension of the camera not realized.
From this need emerged the task that the He is based on the invention, namely suitable optical systems for to provide the microsystem technology that is easy to manufacture and can be operated safely with little effort. With a sol system should have at least two discrete (bistable) beam-optical geometries can be adjustable.
The invention is ver by the specified in claim 1 adjustable optical lens solved. The basic idea is how the cited to the prior art, namely the departure from rigid glass lenses towards lenses that are elastic so that whose focal length is adjustable.
As indicated in claim 1, the invention Lens in a known manner, a chamber with translucent Liquid filled. There are two in the area of the optical axis transparent elastic foils embedded in the chamber wall, due to a closed predetermined kink in agreed to jump bulges. In one connected to the chamber namely its reservoir is a facility with that on the liquid that is necessary for the volume change Pressure can be initiated and maintained, with the Foils with a given overpressure in an outward arch state while jumping at a given negative pressure jump to an inwardly bulging state.
Die Unteransprüche geben vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der Linse nach Anspruch 1 an.The subclaims give advantageous developments of the lens according to claim 1.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing with the single Fig. 1 and is explained in more detail below.
The basic idea is simple: the optically transparent liquid 3 is filled in a rigid volume 2 , 3 without bubbles and is either heated, pressurized, or a small volume of liquid is drawn off or pressed into it. Two mutually opposite bores 5 , 6 or openings in the hollow body 1 are each closed by an elastic, optically permeable film 7 or membrane, so that there is a translucent channel with a straight optical axis 8 .
Fig. 1 shows the structure for a lens that can take bistable states. That is through the predetermined crease line 9 along the edge of the bore on the respective film 7, it extends. With a certain overpressure in the hollow body 1 and reservoir 2 , the film curvature jumps outwards, or inwards from a certain underpressure. If the film is suitably dimensioned, tristable states of the film can also be achieved. This can be achieved by kinking the two foils, which jump around at different internal pressures.
The volume-changing or pressure-exerting device 4 is in principle one of those specified in claim 3. The choice is determined by the proposed technical solution.
Lens systems in this version have the advantage that No axial positioning volume available for the purpose of adjustment must be, since the mechanical adjustment of a rigid glass body pers as with classic optics is eliminated.
