Abstract

The fuel tank (1) has a pressure-proof tank wall, a device filling the tank with fuel (2) and a device for discharging the fuel out of the tank. The discharging device has at least one line (6) rising in the fuel tank and having an open end (10) arranged at an area (11) at the lowest position of the fuel tank. Liquid and residual dirt accumulate in that area. The line has a funnel section (9) formed at the narrowest place of the open end. Above the end (10), two line sections divert from the funnel section, which respectively lead to a combustion device outside the fuel tank. A mechanism is provided for the removal of fuel out of the fuel tank, in the event that the pressure exceeds a limiting pressure.

Description

The invention relates to a fuel tank for a compressed, gaseous Fuel according to the preamble of claim 1.

There are already known fuel tanks with a pressurized gaseous fuel are filled. The pressure in the tank is up to 200 bar for gases contained in the fuel tank at ambient temperature. To Compressed natural gas, also called compressed natural gas, counts from these gases abbreviated CNG.

In known CNG fuel tanks, the gas removal opening is on the side trained. In the lower areas of the fuel tank the dirt and liquid residues contained in the gas, e.g. B. Water, accumulate. Due to the accumulation of dirt and water Volume of the fuel tank smaller over time. Corrosion of the fuel container is accelerated because in natural gas z. B. contain sulfur components are, which form sulfuric acids in connection with water.

The object of the invention is to provide a fuel tank in which one Accumulation of dirt and liquid residues is prevented.

This object is achieved by the features of claim 1.

According to the invention, a line is led into the area of the fuel tank, in which dirt and liquid residues accumulate. From The advantage is that the contaminants sucked in with the fuel, a burn be supplied and burned there.

This incinerator is primarily z. B. an internal combustion engine Motor vehicle. The operation of the internal combustion engine is therefore critical The gas contained in the contaminants is sucked out of the fuel tank. With longer vehicle downtimes, i.e. H. with the internal combustion engine not running, the heat in the fuel tank can lead to an increase in pressure men. In this case, a set-up is required when a limit pressure is exceeded device for discharging the fuel provided on the container, which the fuel to a further combustion device, for example a vehicle stand heating branches.

Dabei zeigen:An embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawings described as an example. Show:

Fig. 1 shows a fuel tank 1 , which is filled with a compressed, gas-shaped fuel 2 , for example CNG. The pressure in the fuel tank 1 is p₁ = 200 bar. The fuel tank 1 has an outer wall 3 , which is sufficiently di dimensioned relative to the prevailing pressure p 1 in the fuel tank 1 . In the fuel tank 1 , two through openings 4 and 5 are formed, through which corresponding sections 7 and 8 of a line 6 are passed gas-tight. The line 6 has a funnel-shaped section 9 , the lower open end 10 of which protrudes into an area 11 of the fuel tank 1 , in which there is an increased accumulation of liquid and dirt residues 12 .
