  • - diskontinuierlich oder kontinuierlich Teile des Kulturmediums entnimmt,
  • - die darin befindlichen Bakterien abtötet oder anderweitig entfernt
  • - das verbleibende Kulturmedium in das Kultivierungsgefäß zurückführt und
  • - diesen Vorgang so oft wiederholt, bis die eingesetzte Population auf einen bis wenige Bakterienstämme reduziert ist.
