Das Walzen-Plätteisen besteht aus einer hohlen, in einem Bügel b gelagerten Metallwalze a, in welchem dieselbe mittelst der hohlen Achsen c rotirt. Beim Gebrauch des Plätteisens stellt man dasselbe in die Gabel des Dreifufses K über die Spirituslampe, so dafs die der Flamme entsteigende Hitze durch die hohle Achse c in das Innere der Plättwalze tritt und die Walze erhitzt; ist letztere genügend warm, so erfafst man dieselbe an dem zur Führung bestimmten Bügel b und führt das Plätteisen langsam von oben nach unten über die zu plättenden Wäschestücke unter Benutzung des in Fig. 4 veranschaulichten Plättbrettes.The roller flat iron consists of a hollow metal roller a mounted in a bracket b , in which it rotates by means of the hollow axes c.
