Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine mittels Dampfheizung und gewärmter Luft wirkende Trockenvorrichtung für Schlichtmaschinen und kennzeichnet sich durch die Anordnung der Zuführung der Trockenluft, welche eine Vorwärmung derselben vor ihrer vollständigen Erwärmung durch die Dampfrohre bewirkt. Vermittels der Trommel s findet eine Vortrocknung und vermittels der Trommel k eine Kühlung der durch die heiße Luft und durch das Dampfrohr erhitzten Waren statt. Wird, nachdem die Trommeln in bekannter Weise in Umdrehung versetzt sind, der Dampf und die Trockenluft durch die Rohre α und b zugeführt, so streicht letztere an dem Rohr a hin und wird dadurch erhitzt und, nachdem sie in das Rohr c eingetreten ist, nach allen Richtungen hin ausgeblasen. Sie trifft dabei zum Teil die Rippenheizrohre d, und zum anderen Teil wird sie durch die von diesen ausgestrahlte Wärme beeinflußt, so daß sie noch weiter erwärmt wird. Infolge der stark erhitzten Luft und infolge der gleichzeitigen Wirkung der Dampfrohre findet eine starke Trocknung der geschlichteten Ware statt, so daß das Garn das Gehäuse vollständig getrocknet verläßt.it lets the air escape through openings at its rear end.
