Außerdem wird insbesondere die obere Umschlagseite verhältnismäßig schnell abgegriffen, so daß die Reklameaufdrücke auf der Außenseite. des oberen Umschlagblattes in Eitleidenschaft gezogen werden. Da die Zeitschrift vom Schutzumschlag auf ihrer dem Heftrand abgekehrten Seite nicht abgedeckt wird, ist sie dort nicht selten Beschädigungen ausgesetzt. Die Wiederverwertbarkeit der Zeitschriften als auch der sie umgebenden Schutzumschläge wird durch diese Umstände erheblich verringert.
