Setzt man nun das Stricken fort, so braucht man nur die Hülse h mittels der Arme i mit den Fingern der linken Hand nach und nach am Griffe d herunterzuziehen. Hierdurch senken sich die Bogenteile nach und nach, und der gebildete Strumpfteil, Hacke oder Zehe, wird gleichmäßig herabgezogen. Das zufolge der Wölbung der Hacke nötige langsame Senken wird bei Benutzung der Vorrichtung vollkommen erreicht, da die Mitte der Bogeriteile α immer tiefer zu liegen kommt und sich so der sich wölbenden Form der gebildeten Hacke vollkommen anpaßt. Wenn die Hülse h ihre tiefste Stellung erreicht hat und die inneren Haken ihren größten Weg zurückgelegt haben, so ist das Stricken der Hacke beendet. Nun werden wieder sämtliche Nadeln in Betrieb gesetzt und das Stricken des Fußteiles beginnt.
