Hiernach verwendet man zur vollkommenen Sterilisation der genannten Flüssigkeiten die Superoxyde des Calciums und des Magnesiums/ die man in sehr geringer Quantität zusammen mit Kohlensäure oder anderen milden Säuren oder sauren Substanzen (sauren Salzen, wie sauren Tartraten, Giraten, Malaien usf.), oder mit Substanzgemischen , die diese Säuren entwickeln, wie z. B. Brausepulver, in der Flüssigkeit verteilt. Die genannten Superoxyde werden unter Entwicklung von Wasserstoffsuperoxyd vollständig umgesetzt, und zwar entweder durch die in den Flüssigkeiten schon an sich enthaltenen milden Säuren, wie Milchsäure, Weinsäure, Äpfelsäure usw., oder aber durch die beigefügten Säuren oder Substanzgemische. Die entstehenden Kalk- und Magnesiasalze sind dem Organismus durchaus zuträglich; das freiwerdende Wasserstoffsuperoxyd aber übt im Entstehungszustande eine so bedeutende sterilisierende Wirkung aus, daß sämtliche in der Flüssigkeit enthaltenen Keime abgetötet werden. Hierbei wird das Wasserstoffsuperoxyd in bei weitem stärkeren Maße verbraucht, als wenn man es der Flüssigkeit in freiem Zustande zugesetzt hätte, so daß nach Beendigung des Vorganges nur eine äußerst geringe und jedenfalls unbedenkliche Menge davon zurückbleibt. Auch der Umstand, daß die Einwirkung der milden Säuren auf die genannten Superoxyde nicht augenblicklich, wie bei etwaiger Anwendung von' Natriumsuperoxyd, sondern im Verlaufe längerer Zeit stattfindet, trägt dazu bei, die Sterilisation zu einer sehr wirksamen und vollkommenen zu machen.The purpose of the present proceedings is to remedy this certainly considerable deficiency correct, easy and cheap way to eliminate.
