Zum Sortieren von Kartoffeln benutzt man mit Schraubengewinden versehene Walzen, welche sich an ihren Enden absatzweise verjüngen, so daß zwischen den Schrauben an ihren Enden ein vorn enger, hinten weiterer Spalt entsteht. Man kann nun anstatt zwei Schrauben, wie nach Patent 148818, auch eine Schraube benutzen und legt dieser seitlich ein Brett an, so daß ein nach oben offener Winkel zwischen Schraube und Brett entsteht.
