Bei bewußtlosen bzw. scheintoten Personen ist es von
ausschlaggebender Bedeutung, daß der um die Wiederbelebung
bemuhte Helfer die durch Schleim, Blut oder Wasser verlegten Atemwege des Verunglückten
eo rasch wie möglich freiaaugen kann. In der Klinik worden für solche Zwecke große
elektrisch betriebene Absaugpumpen verwendet. Für die erste Hilfe in Rettungsfahrzeugen
wird die Saugkraft des Fahrzeugmotors zu diesem Zwecke benutzt. Weiter sind durch
den Fuß betriebene Absaugepumpen bekannt. Die Operationsabsaugegerãte und die an
ein Fahrzeug gebundenen Absaugegeräte kommen für die allererste Hilfe kaum in Frage.
Dagegen wird die mit dem Puß betriebene Absaugepumpe ruch von den ersten Helfern

Die Neuerung betrifft eine Sekretabsaugevorrichtung für Rettungezwecke

Absaugekatheter. Die Neuerung besteht darin, daß das an sich bekannte Sekretsammelgeflß
mit einem Stutzen versehen ist, an dem ein vorzugsweise aus Gummi oder Plastik bestehendes
Mundstück befestigt ist. Das Mundstück ist mit einem Schild ausgerüstet, der durch
die Lippen und die Zähne des Helfers festgehalten wird. Der Helfer hält so die Sekretabsaugevorrichtung
durch den Mund und erzeugt mit der Wangenmuskulatur in der Sekretabsaugevorrichtung
einen Unterdruck, der das Sekret über einen Katheter aus den Atemwegen des Verunglückten
in das Auffangglas hineinsaugt. Durch diese Neuerung wird erreicht, daß der am Boden
knieender über den Kopf des Verunglückten gebeugte Helfer mit Hilfe dieser Absaugevorrichtung
das Sekret absaugen kann, wobei er weder zum Halten der Absaugevorrichtung eine
seiner Hände noch zum Erzeugen des Unterdruckes Hand oder Puß benötigt. Die Zeichnung
