KAISERLICHES PATENTAMT. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Sattelbaum, dessen Trachten und Zwiesel, statt wie bisher aus dem vollen Holze herausgearbeitet, aus gepreßtem Holze hergestellt sind. Durch diese Herstellungsart wird es möglich, die Sattelteile so anzufertigen, daß nahezu alle Fasern längs der Hauptbiegungskurve des betreffenden Sattelteiles verlaufen. Die Fasern der Zwiesel besitzen somit die U-form dieses ίο Sattelteiles, während die Fasern der Trachten, die im übrigen aus mehreren Holzschichten bestehen, die langgestreckte geschweifte Form der letzteren erhalten. Durch diese Bauart wird die Festigkeit des Sattelbaumes derart erhöht, daß die bisher verwendeten Verstärkungseisen bedeutend schwächer gewählt werden können. Die Zeichnung zeigt den Sattelbaum in Fig. ι und 2 in zwei Ausführungen in schaubildlicher Darstellung. Die Zwiesel α bestehen aus einem Stück gepreßten und gebogenen Holzes und sind derart angeordnet, daß die Fasern im wesentlichen in der Richtung der Hauptbiegungskurve verlaufen. Die Trachten bestehen aus drei übereinander geleimten gepreßten Holzschichten b, c, d, und zwar so, daß die Fasern der Ober- und Unterschicht in Längsrichtung und die Fasern der Mittelschicht schräg zu denen der beiden anderen Schichten verlaufen. Bei dem in Fig. 1 dargestellten Mannschaftssattel ist der vordere Zwiesel α und bei dem in Fig. 2 dargestellten Offizierssattelbaum der hintere Zwiesel a' der vorliegenden Erfindung gemäß aus gepreßtem Holz ausgeführt.
