Aufgrund dieser Ausbildung wird der für die Anbringung des Sattelgehäuses außerhalb der Bremstrommel erforderliche Platz auf ein Minimum herabgesetzt..b 'in: --- de; rartigE1 brake is known to have the advantage that the me-ballioche friction surface --- ..ic, - is actually larger than with one. Usual disc brake. The well-known brakes of this type however, have the disadvantage that they take up a considerable amount of space. The aim of the invention is therefore to create a brake of the type mentioned, in which the brake drum has a very can have large diameter and yet the brake easily within the rim can be accommodated. For this purpose, the invention provides that the saddle housing in.Um "circumferential direction of the cylinder shape of the brake drum is adapted. Because of this Training is the one for attaching the caliper housing outside of the brake drum required space reduced to a minimum.
Am Inhenbacken kann eine Hammerkopfverbindung vorgesehen sein, die den Innenbacken am Herausfallen hindert.-Preferably is between the actuating device and the inner jaws an automatic adjustment device switched, which st2ts the target clearance Maintained until the covering is completely worn out. A hammer head connection can be attached to the inner jaw be provided, which prevents the inner jaws from falling out.
The invention is described below, for example, with reference to the drawing; This shows: Figure 1 eir-, j "n (# 7, cross-section of an embodiment of the brake according to the i, # rfindung, Figure 2 a section along line II-II in FIG. 1 and Figure 3 a section along the line III-III in Fig. 22 on an enlarged scale.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the brake of the invention, a caliper housing on,-jelches -t from a z- # rlinderförmigen Au3enschenkel 11, which simultaneously represents the Aii-Benbacken, a base 12 and an inner leg 13 consists. The caliper housing constructed in this way is fastened by means of fastening eyes 18 to the brake shield, which is attached to the steering knuckle so as to be displaceable in the direction of the brake movement. If the brake shield is firmly attached to the steering knuckle, the saddle housing is arranged by means of the fastening eyes 18 on another part which can be displaced relative to the steering knuckle in the direction of braking movement. The outer leg 11 , which represents the outer jaw, has the outer brake linings 26 on its inner side, which come into engagement with the brake drum 17 when the brake is actuated. A spreading mechanism 14 is supported on the inner leg 13 and moves the inner jaw 16 with the inner brake linings 27 onto the brake drum 17 when a plane 14a is pivoted. The spreading mechanism works, for example, in a known manner by means of balls 28 rolling on run-up ramps. An adjusting device 15 is arranged at the drum-side end of the spreading mechanism, which has a threaded bolt and an adjusting helical spring. This device automatically sets the required clearance. In order to prevent the inner jaw from falling out, it is fastened by means of a bolt 19 to the caliper housing with play in the direction of movement of the brake shoe. According to Fig-w 3 pins 20 are attached to the inner jaws, which engage in. Bohrungen 21 in a hammer head 22 with play. The play of the pins 20 in the bores 21 corresponds to the required clearance. A nut is screwed onto the bolt 19 on the outside. A washer and a spring washer 23 are located between the nut and the saddle housing.
When the lining is worn, the hammer head 22 moves with the inner jaw 16 and the bolt 19 relative to the caliper housing in the direction of the drum. In this way, a secure hold of the inner jaw 16 is ensured without the ability to move on the brake drum 17 being impaired.
The spring 24 is supported on the leg 13 of the saddle housing and exerts a return force on the inner jaw 16 .
When the lever 14a is pivoted, the inner jaw 16 and the outer leg 11 , which acts as an AuLon jaw, are moved towards the brake drum. The mode of action corresponds to the floating saddle principle. The displaceable attachment of the 'caliper housing' ensures that the outer brake linings 26 rest on the brake drum 17 . That part to which the caliper housing is attached via the eyelets 18 must of course be so strong that it is able to absorb the braking torque acting in the circumferential direction. Due to the design according to the invention, the brake drum can have the largest possible diameter, so that the space available in the wheel is optimally used. In addition, the cylindrical construction according to the invention is much more stable and the same strength can be achieved with a lower expenditure of weight. In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1 , the brake linings 26, 27 are divided into two partial linings in order to achieve the most favorable possible ratio between the brake lining friction surface and the metal friction surface. If necessary, the brake linings can also be continuous. With hydraulic actuation, the arrangement outside of the drum part prevents the formation of steam bubbles.
