Description
KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
The new carriage is therefore set up in such a way that that they were in combat together with the rifle and a large quantity of ammunition by just one man in all gaits
On the march, depending on the nature of the road, she is pulled by a horse or carried packed on its back. . Despite this versatility, the carriage is kept very simple; A peculiar device ensures great stability of the mount when firing, without the need for it to be difficult to carry out. It also allows the firing height of the rifle to be changed at will between 37 to JJ cm. In the drawing, the new mount is shown, namely Fig. Ι illustrates a side view of the same, the rifle in the highest fire height, Fig. 2 the 'same view, the rifle in the lowest allowed fire height. Figures 3 and 4 are the front, respectively. Views of FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 5 shows the mount seen from above and FIG. 6, ready for packaging, in a side view. In FIGS. 3 and 4, the carriage trees are not shown for the sake of clarity.
Soll die Feuerhöhe noch weiterThe carriage consists of the axle with wheels, the central carriage and the carriage trees. The axis α is bent in the middle to the height of fire of the gun within wide limits as possible to change. Can. The two drivers b are screwed onto the steering knuckles, the eyes of which also form the thrust washers for the wheels. Both drivers are connected at the top by a screw bolt on which the locking sleeve c sits. The central mount is made up of two identical mount brackets, the rifle carrier i, the bolt v, the traverse m and the connecting cross /. The mount brackets are bent from U-iron and consist of the uprights g and the struts h; in the knee they each have a bearing for the rifle carrier i. The rifle rests in the rifle carrier by means of the vertical pivot k, while it is held backwards by the aiming device, not shown here, which is attached to and between the struts h . The blocks gh are connected at the front by the bolt ν (Fig. 4), at the rear by the cross member m (F'g-S). The cross / (Fig. 5) stiffens both cross connections against each other by connecting the endpoints of m and ν diagonally. When the mount is assembled, the uprights g are constantly connected to the axis α by two double rings 0 rotatable on the locking sleeve, in such a way that. the stand g and thus also the entire center bracket on the axis can be moved up and down. You can therefore also use the mount at the. In Fig. 1 and 3 drawn position of the axis so far in the rotatable on the locking sleeve c double rings 0 down until the knee of the carriage brackets against the rings 0 abuts. Should the fire height even further
Zwei Schieberklemmen s, welche auf der rechteckigen Mittelachse sitzen und durch einen Exzenter mit Handgriff r bewegt werden, dienen dazu, are reduced, the axis is pivoted downwards until it has the position shown in FIGS. By shifting it in the retaining rings ο , the carriage can again be adjusted to the desired fire height. Two slide clamps s, which sit on the rectangular central axis and are moved by an eccentric with handle r, serve to
ίο 'to firmly connect the stand to the axis, as soon as the intended altitude has been reached.
The carriage trees form the actual carriage body, they are detachably attached to the central carriage and each consist of two upper trees e and two lower trees d. The lower boom trees are straight and attached to the front with eyes on vertical pins of the stand g (Fig. 2 and 4). The upper mount trees e are bent up in the middle and are attached to the rifle carrier i protruding outward on both sides on the central mount, while the free rear ends of the trees are connected by the two hinges /. . By each pull rod u , the trees e and the rear half of the trees d and the struts h of the mount brackets can be firmly pressed together, the articulated on the traverse m connecting pieces η the evasion respectively. Prevent the trees from buckling outwards. Through this clamping of the mount body, an extremely high stability of the mount is achieved when firing. So that the mount is not overloaded by heavy wheels, while special support feet are unnecessary for use when shooting, each wheel is provided with a strong spoke ρ , which is placed down when shooting (Fig. 1) and gives the braked wheels sufficient stability.
The above-described carriage can now be easily driven by a man in the form shown in FIG. 1 , ammunition being carried at the same time in the cartridge box t, several of which have space on the carriage. As soon as the upper carriage booms are detached from the center bracket at the front end and folded backwards in the hinge f , they form, together with the lower booms d, a fork bar for clamping a draft horse. In Fig. 5 this position of the trees is shown by dash-dotted lines, d 1 are the lower, e 1 the upper carriage trees. Depending on the width of the horse, the lower trees d can be swung outwards around their front connecting pins and stiffened by the downwardly folded connecting pieces η of the central mount with the traverse m of the same.
If the gun carriage of a horse are packaged on the back, the middle carriage is set as low as possible to the axis, removed the carriage trees and the carriage as shown in Fig position shown 6, inversely on the Päcksattel. Secured. The center of gravity of the system is then very low, which is very beneficial for the march. Although the booms are removed in this arrangement, the rifle has. but a great readiness to fire, since the carriage can be used in the event of sudden attacks without hanging the carriage trees. By inserting the divided trees respectively. By folding it down, the carriage can also be set up so that the trees do not need to be removed.
