The present invention relates to engines with rotating pistons (respectively. Pumps and the like), in which the working cylinder to reduce the friction between it and the rotating piston drum located eccentrically in it participates in the rotation.
The piston drum and the working cylinder have the same angular velocity. Because of the eccentric mounting of the two to one another, however, the surface elements have the touching parts of their end walls have different circumferential speeds, which results in a relative movement of the two end walls against each other. This difference in peripheral speed the surface element is relatively large close to the center of the drum and decreases towards the periphery. She transmits of course also on the rotating slide piston, and that is all the greater, the larger the part of the piston protruding beyond the periphery of the drum. as As a result of this relative movement of the two end walls to one another, there are disadvantages for keeping these parts tight. Those surfaces must be airtight to one another, because the pistons and the grooves provided for them in the drum make the attachment a sealant on the end wall of the drum impossible. It is also not in the end walls of the working cylinder possible, sealants, such as. B. sealing rings to attach, as such means because of the eccentric position of the drum and the cylinder an eccentric position to the former would have, so would be of little or no use. It is for these reasons that the machines must run this way that the ends of the end wall and the pistons are almost airtight on the end walls seal the cylinder so that too much of the propellant does not hit the machines leaves between the contact surfaces of those parts. Here the execution can be like this be that too much friction is not caused as the end walls of the cylinder take part in the rotation. At the slightest change in temperature, however, the drum and pistons usually have one higher temperature than the cylinder, which has the consequence that the drum and the pistons be held between the end walls respectively. with so much friction on them Walls run so that a large part of the force is lost. It has also happened that the pistons in these machines got stuck so firmly between the cylinder end walls of the capsule that they broke.
Dies wird dadurch erreicht, daß der Zylinder als Ring gestaltet ist, der zwischen den Stirnwänden frei beweglich ist und an der Drehung der Trommel nur infolge der Reibung anThe purpose of the present invention is now to remedy these inconveniences. this is achieved in that the cylinder is designed as a ring between the end walls is free to move and the rotation of the drum only as a result of the friction
