Solche Regale haben zwar den Vorteil, daß man auf Grund eines durchgehenden Fachbodens von doppelter Tiefe keine Fugen erhält und insgesamt nur halb so viele Regalpfosten nötig sind als bei Regalen von halber Breite; die Rücken an Rücken gestellt sind. Nachteilig an solchen Regalen ist, daß die Fachböden wegen ihrer verhältnismäßig großen Länge bei gleicher Tragfähigkeit kräftiger ausgebildet werden müssen als schmalere Böden und daß es nicht möglich ist, an einer Regalseite eine andere Bodeneinteilung zu wählen als an der anderen Regalseite. _ Bekannt ist auch ein Regal der eingangs genannten Gattung (deutsche Gebrauchsmusterschrift 1854 152). Bei diesem bekannten Regal sind sowohl die Eckpfosten als auch die Mittelpfosten mit in senkrechten Reihen angeordneten Bohrungen versehen, in die als Auflager für die Fachböden dienende Bolzen einsteckbar sind. An den Fachböden sind Haken angebracht, die die Auflager am Mittelpfosten übergreifen, während die vorderen Enden der Fachböden mit ihren Unterseiten auf an den Eckpfosten angebrachten Auflagern aufruhen. Die Verwendung von separaten in großer Stückzahl nötigen Auflagern vergrößert die Anzahl der Einzelteile eines Regals sehr stark.
