Außer den Alkalisalzen und dem Calcium- und Bariumsalz der Uberborsäure sind bisher keinerlei Metallsalze der Überborsäure zugänglich gewesen (vergl. Ber. d. deutschen ehem. Gesellschaft 1898, S. 953 und 954). Schon das Calciumperborat zersetzt sich nach den dortigen Angaben äußerst leicht unter Abgabe von Sauerstoff, während die Versuche, Nickel-, Kobalt-, Kupfer- und Mangan-,salze zu bilden, fehlschlugen (v. 1. c). Um so überraschender war es, daß sich Salze des Zinks mit der Überborsäure verhältnismäßig leicht und von unbegrenzter Haltbarkeit darstellen ließen, und zwar nach einem der folgenden Verfahren.Except for the alkali salts and the calcium and barium salts of overboric acid are so far no metal salts of overboric acid were accessible (cf.
