PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.
In the patent specification 123922 the representation of blue sulfur dyes is from p-oxyphenyl-1 -amido-4-nitronaphthalene sulfonic acids have been described and highlighted there, that, depending on the melting temperature, blue-black to deep black dyes are also formed from the same starting materials. The formation of such by-products, which are undesirable in the blue industry, can be self-sufficient with the greatest care, never avoid it completely. Similar observations have also been made been used in the patent 132212 claimed use of the indophenols from p-amidophenol and a-naphthylamine sulfonic acids.
In order to bring about a uniform course of the reaction with these starting materials, an attempt was made to remove the free amido group of the naphthalene complex by substitution with aryl radicals before further interventions to protect. The unexpected observation was made that p-oxyaryl-i-amido-4-arylamidonaphthalene sulfonic acids not blue, but green sulfur dyes are produced; with the addition of copper or copper salts for polysulphide melt even succeed in yellow-green nuances from before to achieve unmatched purity with sulfur dyes. The same stand out in addition, it is characterized by excellent lightfastness and very good washfastness.
Als geeignete Ausgangsmaterialien haben sich die Leukoderivate derjenigen Indophenolsulfosäuren erwiesen, welche bei gemeinsamer Oxydation von Phenyl- bezw. p-Tolyli-naphtylamin-6, 7 oder 8-monosulfosäure undThe leuco derivatives of those indophenolsulfonic acids have proven to be suitable starting materials proven, which with joint oxidation of phenyl or. p-Tolyli-naphthylamine-6, 7 or 8-monosulfonic acid and
p-Amidophenol entstehen. Use otherwise, e.g. B. by chlorine or methyl Substituted aryl compounds generally either offer no advantages or has an unfavorable influence on the nuance of the end products. The oxidation The indophenolsulfonic acids useful here can, for example, be in alkaline solution with sodium hypochlorite at a temperature not exceeding 5 °. The intense purple-red to purple colored alkaline solutions of indophenolsulfonic acids are based on the addition of Sodium sulphide in the cold into the p-oxyphenyl-iamido-4-oxylamidonaphthalene sulfonic acids, which are dissolved with a yellowish color over, which are very difficult to add to acids than in water, but more readily soluble in alcohol gray precipitations fail. They dissolve in alkaline sulfur as well as in neutral ones Sulphites unchanged with a yellowish color, their solutions in alkalis and alkali carbonates on the other hand, they rapidly oxidize to the corresponding indophenol sulfonic acids when exposed to air, the 1 · 8-sulfonic acids among violet-red, the ΐ · 6- and 1 · 7-sulfonic acids under violet coloring.
AIs-40 kg i-phenylamido-4-p-oxyphenylamidonaphtalin-8-sulf osäüre are introduced into a boiling solution of 40 kg of sulfur and 100 kg of crystallized sodium sulphide in 100 1 of water, evaporated to 120 0 boiling point and then boiled for 20 hours a reflux condenser with stirring . dann lost man die Schmelze, aus welcher der größere Teil des gebildeten Farbstoffes als bronzeglänzendes Harz sich abgeschieden hat, in kochendem Wasser und isoliert den Farbstoff durch Aussalzen. Er stellt nach dem Trocknen ein bronzeglänzendes, in Wasser mit blaugrüner Farbe lösliches Pulver dar und färbt aus schwefelnatronhaltigem Bade ungeheizte Baumwolle in lebhaften blaugrünen ίο Nuancen.then you dissolve the melt from which the larger part of the dye formed has deposited as a shiny bronze resin, in boiling water and isolate the dye by salting out. He poses after the When dry, it is a shiny bronze powder that is soluble in water with a blue-green color and dyes unheated cotton from bath containing sulphurous soda in vivid blue-green ίο nuances.
ioo kg kristallisiertes Schwefelnatrium und 40 kg Schwefel werden in 100 1 kochendem Wasser gelöst und hierzu 40 kg I-Phenylamido-vj.-p-oxyphenylamidonaphtalin-obezw. 7-sulfosäure (entsprechend phenyliertera-Naphtylaminsulfosäure Cleve) unter gutem Rühren eingetragen. Sobald vollständige Lösung100 kg of crystallized sodium sulphide and 40 kg of sulfur are boiled in 100 liters Dissolved water and added 40 kg of I-phenylamido-vj.-p-oxyphenylamidonaphtalin-obezw. 7-sulfonic acid (corresponding to phenylated α-naphthylamine sulfonic acid Cleve) entered with thorough stirring. Once complete solution
.ao has occurred, is reacting 5 kg of copper powder or a concentrated solution of 7 kg of copper sulphate and concentrated to the melt up to 115 0 Boiling point, after which, with continued stirring boiled for 20 hours reflux condenser. The melt is now dissolved in boiling water, filtered and the dye is salted out from the filtrate. It dissolves in water with a yellow-green color, which turns into a light brownish-yellow when boiled with sodium sulphide, and from such a solution it turns unheated cotton a bright yellow-green. .
Die sämtlichen Farbstoffe dieser Reihe zeigen folgende gemeinsame Merkmale:The dyes derived from p-tolylamido sulfonic acid also behave analogously. All the dyes in this series share the following characteristics:
They are soluble in water with a blue to yellow-green color; by adding acid the dye precipitates in green-blue to green flakes, while excess baking soda creates a blue precipitate. In concentrated sulfuric acid, the dyes dissolve with a steel blue color; when diluted with water they separate in blue flakes.
In alcohol the phenyl derivatives are very heavy, the p-tolyl dyes somewhat lighter soluble with green color.
