Description
The invention relates to the fastening of a glass window in the rear wall a folding roof made of cloth for vehicles.
For connecting metallic bodies to one another, of metallic ones Bodies with bodies made of plastic or glass, of bodies made of plastic with one another and the like, it has become known that at least one surface of the two is flat bodies to be connected to one another before they are joined together, if necessary prior cleaning with a vinyl resin present in dispersion or with Another suitable plastic, such as polyethylene, polypropylene or a polyamide to be coated, which gives this surface an adhesive capacity after it has cooled down. The two bodies to be joined are then joined together and opened heated to a temperature above the melting point of the plastic, with which the surface of one of the two bodies was coated so that after one Cooling down the suffering body these connected to one another by means of the plastic stay. This process step - of - connecting the two bodies ° @ .viid @ 'preferably' niittels - an induction set @ .vät- 'introduced by the two metallic bodies.
The invention is based on this prior art the underlying task of a glass window particularly reliably in the rear wall of a To fix folding roofs made of cloth for vehicles, the solution to this problem is therefore of particular interest because glass has recently been made, that is thinner and lighter than the usual layered or tempered glass can be and that also has a greater flexibility in comparison, so that Such a glass is advantageously made of plastic or celluloid can replace which so far usually for the one in the rear wall of a folding roof windows made of cloth were used for vehicle-mounted vehicles.
To solve this problem, the invention proposes the edge area of the glass window after treatment with an adhesive primer to cover with a layer of vinvl on the primer that overlaps the glass window The area of the roof cloth also has a matching vinyl coating on the glass edges Vinvl to cover and finally the prepared roof cloth surface and the glass edges then to be connected to one another by dielectric heating. In this procedure according to the invention it is considered expedient, the edge region of the glass window For the purpose of accepting the primer, it must be chemically etched beforehand, blown with sand or to grind. This creates a connection - between the fabric of the folding roof and the glass of the window, which, in normal use, is so strong that it fits in usually has a longer lifespan than the cloth.
The method according to the invention is used below for a practical, Use case illustrated in the drawing is described in more detail. It shows F i g. 1 is a perspective partial view of the folding roof of a vehicle, in which Rear wall an i glass window is attached, F i g. 2 a sectional view according to the 1; irlze 2-2 `the F i g. 1 and 3 a perspective partial view for illustration the fixing of the roof cloth on the glass window.
In Fig: 1, 11 denotes the indicated contour of the body of a vehicle, which is equipped with a folding roof 12 made of cloth, the structural details of which are not of further interest in the context of the present invention and are therefore not shown in detail. In the rear wall 13 of this folding roof 12, which extends from a rear roof arch 14 up to the plane of the trunk lid 15 of the body 11 , an opening 16 is formed which is filled by a window 17. If this window 17 is made of glass, it is fastened in accordance with the teaching of the present invention as follows in the rear wall 13 of the hinged roof 12 Cloth strip 18 is to be attached, which in turn is attached to the body. For the remaining edges of the glass window 17, such cloth strips are preferably also provided, which are connected to the folding roof in a known manner by means of zippers, so that when these zippers are opened, the window 17 around the securing edge of the cloth strip 18, which then functions as a hinge can be folded down on the body 11-.
With reference to the representations of FIG. 2 and 3, the procedure for fastening the glass window 17 to the cloth strip 18 is as follows. If the cloth strip 18 has two layers, then the partial surfaces of the two layers 19 and 21 later overlapping the glass window are covered with a vinyl, whereby it can be assumed that such a vinyl coating is usually already present on the cloth that is used for production such folding roofs of vehicles is used. On the other hand, the edge areas 22 of the glass window 17, which are later overlapped by the layers 19 and 21 of the cloth strip 18, are first treated with a solvent to remove any contamination, such as fat in particular, which is then followed by chemical etching, or blowing followed by sand or a grinding of these edge areas in order to create a roughened surface for the subsequent application of an adhesive primer, which may optionally be mixed with an activating agent to thereby give the primer an improved moisture resistance. The primer created in this way then receives a vinyl coating 24, the properties of which match the vinyl coating of the layers 19 and 21 of the cloth strip 18, in the sense that after the possible insertion of the glass window 17 prepared in this way in its edge regions 22 between the layers 19 and 21 of the cloth strip 18, the glass edges can be connected to one another with the overlapping surfaces of the layers 19 and 21 by means of a dielectric heating which then has to be carried out. Once this dielectric heating has been carried out, the glass window 17 is firmly connected to the cloth strip 18. In this context it goes without saying that the procedure is the same; if the cloth strip is only single-ply, in which case it can be assumed that an equally firm connection is then created between the cloth and the glass window.
