Description
Die Erfindung betrifft Lote zum Löten und Lötschweißen von Gußeisen. The invention relates to solders for soldering and solder welding of cast iron.
These solders can be used most advantageously in mending cast iron workpieces and castings to the high requirements in terms of uniform color and strength properties be asked.
Przeglad Spawalnictwa, Nr. 10, 1961 [XIII], A. Zischewski, T. Radomski, »Hartlote«, S. 270 bis 274). Diese Lote bestehen ausSolders for soldering and soldering cast iron are already known (see Przeglad Spawalnictwa, No. 10, 1961 [XIII], A. Zischewski, T. Radomski, "Hartlote", pp. 270 to 274). These solders consist of
Eine Zugabe von 0,15 bis 0,25 7o Aluminium schützt jedoch das Mangan vor der Oxydation und gewährleistet auf diese Weise, daß die Lötschweißverbindung auch nach der mechanischen Bearbeitung ihre weiße Farbe behält.and 3.5 to 4.5% nickel ensures the white color of the solder and the weld metal in the braze weld seam as well as a Brinell hardness of the seam of 170 to 190 kp / mm 1. The seam only retains this color in the cast state and is due to oxidation Manganese has a reddish color after mechanical (cutting) processing, which differs from cast iron. An addition of 0.15 to 0.25 70 aluminum, however, protects the manganese from oxidation and in this way ensures that the solder welded joint retains its white color even after mechanical processing.
Increase 0.8 to 1.17o tin that is in the solder the thin liquid of the solder and ensure good wetting of the solder with relatively little Soldering temperature.
The following comparison of a solder belonging to the prior art with a solder according to FIG Invention makes technical progress clear:
In DIN 8513, sheet 1, April 1964, brass solders (L-SoMs) are described, in addition to the main alloy components Copper and zinc may still contain admixtures, although a permissible one for aluminum Amount of 0.01 percent by weight is given.

All of these known solders have a different color than that of cast iron (yellow brass color) and a lower hardness compared with cast iron are disadvantageous. Therefore, this Solders are not used for workpieces with increased requirements in terms of appearance Products and strength properties are placed.

The comparison shows that the Lot 2 belonging to the invention in every respect to the prior art Technology belonging to Lot 1 is superior. The desired, cast iron-like color is achieved when But not Lotl. The Brinell hardness of the weld metal 2 is higher than the Brinell hardness of the weld metal 1 with the same Brinell hardness of the cast iron. While the weld seam obtained with solder 2 is tight and clean after processing, can be seen in the weld seam obtained with the solder on the surface of the weld metal, gas inclusions. The Solder 2 does not smoke during solder welding, from which it can be concluded that zinc evaporation does not occur. '
In contrast, the solder 1 smokes during solder welding, which is another disadvantage of the solder behold is.
Since the color and hardness of the weld metal differ little from those of cast iron, it is a special one Economical material for repairing work pieces and cast iron pieces to which high requirements with regard to the appearance of the products and with regard to their strength properties be asked. The low melting temperature of the solder enables it to be used when mending to use from defective areas on already machined surfaces of workpieces without these are deformed in the process.
It should also be noted that the low melting temperature of the solder makes it possible to reduce gas consumption in gas brazing and brazing welding and to increase the efficiency of these work processes.
In this way, the solder according to the invention enables defects in workpieces and castings made of cast iron to repair that cannot be removed with the help of the known solders.

It is heated by means of an acetylene-oxygen flame. It is most expedient if a flux with the following composition is used in the solder welding process: 50% boric acid (H 3 BO 3 ), 25% lithium carbonate (Li 2 CO 3 ), 25% sodium carbonate (Na 2 CO 3 ) [German patent specification 1 218 256, U.S. Patent 3179 540, British Patent 990 765, French Patent 1,367 555].
When using this flux, the operating temperature does not exceed (heating temperature of the cast iron at the location to be welded) 750 0 C during soldering. Therefore, the operation can be carried out without prior overall heating of the cast iron. This results in neither structural white spots nor cracks in the cast iron. The work process is carried out with good success on workpieces that have already been machined, without their geometric dimensions changing. After mechanical processing, the weld deposit was white in color, similar to that of cast iron. The Brinell hardness of the weld metal was HB = 170 to 190 kp / mm 2 , with a Brinell hardness of the cast iron HB = 180 to 200 kp / mm 2 . In the heat affected zone, no structural whiteness and no cracks occurred during braze welding in the cast iron. The solder weld joint could be processed mechanically (cutting) without difficulty, e.g. B. milled, sanded and scraped.
