Die Erfindung besteht nun darin, daß am Ende des Stabes eine Reihe paralleler ringförmiger Einschnitte d, in denen das Öl haften bleibt, angeordnet ist. Die Höhe des am Stabe haftenden Öles bildet ein Maß für den Höhenstand des Öles im Lager. Selbst ein Überwischen über den Stab wird das in den Aussparungen festgehaltene Öl nicht entfernen. Am Stabe selbst können, wie bei derartigen Prüfstäben üblich, Marken angebracht sein, die gleichzeitig Angaben über »höchsten Stand, genügend Vorrat, Nachfüllen erforderlich usw.« enthalten, in der Weise, daß zwischen den einzelnen Furchen ebene Flächen sich befinden. Die Kontrolle kann schnell und sicher, auch bei schwer zugänglichen Lagern erfolgen, ohne daß eine Einstellung des Betriebes nötig wäre. Auch sieht man an dem in den Rillen haftenden Öl den Grad der Verschmutzung und bis zu welcher Höhe die Verunreinigung den Lagerboden bedeckt. Ferner kann gleichzeitig eine Prüfung auf zulässige Erwärmung geschehen, wenn man, wie dies bei Meßinstrumenten bekannt ist, mit dem Prüfstabe ein Thermometer verbindet. Man stellt dann den Prüfstab aus Glas her und bringt im Innern ein Thermometer an, das eine Marke für die zulässige Erwärmung des Öles erhält.1, 2, 3 and 4 show embodiments of the test rod for the oil level.
