The compounds obtained by the process are distillable oils that often become too much when standing hygroscopic crystals solidify. They are used as catalysts in the conversion of organic isocyanates in carbodiimides.

Der Ansatz, der gemäß Beispiel 3 fortgeführt und aufgearbeitet wird, liefert 67,5 g (80% der Theorie) 2 - Äthyl - 2 - thiono -1,3,2 - oxathiaphospholidin der Formel81.5 g Äthanthiophosphonsäuredichlorid are dissolved in 11 absolute benzene and within 3.5 hours to a solution of 39.1 g 2-HydroxyathyTmercaptan and 101.2 g triethylamine in 1.51 absolute benzene at a temperature of 23 to 24 0 C added. The batch, which is continued and worked up according to Example 3, yields 67.5 g (80% of theory) of 2-ethyl-2-thiono-1,3,2-oxathiaphospholidine of the formula
