Verfahren und Vorrichtung zur automatischen Spannunge-
regelung von.Suhmelztlußelektrolysezelleni Insbeson- ,
dere für die Herstellung" von .Aluminium.
Die Gesamtspannung einer Elektrolysezelle zur.elektrolyti-
schen Herstellung von.Aluminium aus PIuoridsohR#lzen setzt
sieh aus verschiedenen Teilspinnungeabfällen zusammen, In
der sogenanntgn Reizspanqung, dar ist jener Teil der Ge,-
samtspannung, der zur Aufreohterheltung den Wärmegleiohge-=
wichtes der Zelle dient, stellt der Spannungsabfall im l9l-sk-
trolyten den einzigen willkürlich beeinflußbaren Tiil dar..
Dieser Spannungsabfall kann leicht durch Veränderung
des
Abst*cindes der Elektroden beeinfluBt werden. Bein Betrieb
einer Elektrolysezelle wird periodisch Aluminlumoayd in
.
den fluoridelektrolyten einguüracht. Stellt man ndn nach
dem Einbringen des Al"U@ einep bpstinmten Spannungswert
. ein und nimmt naehher*an der Zelle keine Yeränderung mehr
vor, so steigt die Spannung zunächst langeän,-später

scher um-0,2 - 0,5 V an, bis beim sogenannten Anodenetfekt
ein plötzlicher Spanoungsanstieg um 30 - 40 Y erfolgt,
