In axialer Richtung steht
The invention relates to a seal for the seawater-side end of stern tubes with oil lubrication. In the case of stern tubes with oil lubrication, seawater must be prevented from entering the stern tube or oil from escaping from the stern tube, since both seawater ingress and oil loss considerably impair the functionality of the bearing metallic sealing surfaces are pressed against each other by springs or oil pressure. In the axial direction, there is not much space available for the seawater-side seals of this type, since the propeller hub must not protrude too far. Therefore, very careful assembly is a prerequisite for proper functioning of these seals. Since the final assembly cannot take place in the workshop, but rather during installation on the slipway or in the dock, it is not possible to assemble the individual sealing parts with the necessary care Pulling the screw shaft must be removed each time. A disadvantage, which occurs especially with very long waveguides, is that due to temperature fluctuations alone - expansion of the waves of 20 to and more occurs. th can. This is another reason why it is very difficult to achieve a perfect seal here *. Attempts have already been made to remedy this deficiency by using saponifiable oil for the lubrication of the bearing. Together with the seawater, this oil forms an emulsion, with which, however, experience has shown that it is not possible to achieve a perfect oil film, which in turn results in metallic contact between the shaft and the bearing bushing The pressing of non-metallic sealing elements against a bushing with high surface hardness that is drawn onto the actual shaft and protects it against corrosion.

With this seal, the housing, the oil chamber and the bushing form a component that is attached to the stern tube in the fully assembled state, regardless of whether the shaft is embedded or not. The oil chamber is laterally bounded by elastic collars, which are fastened with their outer edge to the housing and with their inner edge form sealing lips that rest against the cylinder liner. Due to the high surface pressure with relatively small sealing forces and the support of the oil pressure, the sealing effect of this seal is initially quite good. However, practice has shown that the sealing effect of the seals of this type (despite the perfect condition of the sealing lips) decreases considerably in the long run. The cause of this deficiency is that-in-operation not insignificant axial
These running points (grooves), in interaction with axial displacements between the sealing lips and the cylinder liner, lead to flexing processes and pumping effects, which can cause considerable leaks. Damage to the sealing lips is also possible. The wear products that arise when the bushing is worn down, together with the oil circulation generated by the guide bearings, supported by the axial displacement between the sealing body and the shaft, get into the sliding space of the guide ring and generate a die on the inner surface, which is filled with white metal Liner with sliding fit comprehensive guide ring significant wear, which leads to so much play expansion that the guide ring no longer fulfills its task, which can also occur due to excessive stress and deformation of the sealing lips, the invention is based on the task of the axial displacements to avoid between the sealing body and the liner firmly connected to the shaft, this object is achieved in that behind the seawater-side edge of the guide ring on a fixed shoulder on the liner a right-angled ode The shoulder of the guide ring, which is offset at almost right angles, is constantly in contact as a safeguard against axial displacement as a result of the internal overpressure. Deposition of the wear products on the outside of the sealing elements is harmless. The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing showing an exemplary embodiment.
The sealing effect is based on the pressing of the sealing rings 1 onto the bushing 2 due to the elastic properties of the rings and the additional pressing of the sealing lips by the stat. Water or oil pressure, the shaft sealing rings 1 are held in a guide ring 3, which takes over the centering of the shaft sealing rings via a slide bearing and keeps radial forces from the movement of the shaft away from the sealing lips.
The guide ring 3 is fastened by two elastic collars 4 in the outer housing 5 of the seal. As a result, the forces in the sliding bearing of the guide ring, which occur due to wave deformation and movement in the radial direction, can be kept within tolerable limits.
Longitudinal displacements of the shaft line are intercepted by the shaft shoulder formed as an axial sliding bearing on the bushing 2 and the guide ring 3 , so that no relative displacement occurs between the guide ring 3 with the shaft sealing rings 1 and the bushing 2. Relative displacements that occur due to different immersion depths of the ship during operation are also prevented by this shaft shoulder. This means that axial sliding movements on the sealing lips cannot occur, such axial sliding movements impair the sealing effect insofar as these sliding movements cause damage to the sealing lips can and the marked running points of the sealing lips in connection with the axial sliding movements generate an oil throughput by means of a pushing action, between the shaft sealing rings 1 and the sliding bearing in the guide ring 3, suitable sealing elements 6 are provided on both sides, which keep the wear parts of the liner away from the sliding bearing, which causes excessive wear in the plain bearing, which leads to an expansion of the bearing play and significantly reduces the load-bearing capacity of the plain bearing and relies on the required precise guidance of the sealing lips on the bushing na detrimental effects. The seal is installed in the ship as a closed component. The liner 2 is attached to the propeller hub and the outer housing 5 to the stern tube of the ship by means of a screw connection.
