Detachable end part for passenger cars The invention relates to a detachable end part for passenger cars.
Will

Considering the high density of traffic, especially in cities
and in view of the small size of the parking space that is usually only available
new motor vehicle designs must be kept as short as possible. Want
if the passenger compartment is not made smaller, the engine compartment is only shortened
or the luggage compartment. Because the engine compartment cannot be reduced in size at will
can, the only solution left is usually a reduction in the luggage compartment.
By shortening the body parts in front of and / or behind the passenger compartment
but the disadvantage arises that only short deformation paths are available in the event of an accident

However, space is of less importance than for city traffic. Also is used for long-distance journeys

Ab-

The invention is intended to create the possibility for passenger cars of simply lengthening vehicles so that additional luggage space or a luggage space at all is created and that greater deformation paths are available in the event of accidents. The extension parts should be able to be attached and removed easily even by laypeople without the aid of tools, and they should be firmly connected to the vehicle. The invention essentially consists in that the end part in the region of its upper side facing the vehicle edge at two in the greatest possible distance-from each other arranged dots is articulated on the ifahrzeugaufbau or suspended and is supported at at least one point in the region of its lower inner edge and is locked there at the same time. Such an end part can, if necessary, for. B. for overland trips, longer trips or if a lot of luggage is to be transported, can be easily and simply connected to the structure. The same end parts can be used for several vehicle types. Different sizes, especially different long end parts, can optionally be used on a vehicle, depending on the needs and wishes of the customer. The axis of the upper suspension devices can advantageously extend transversely to the direction of travel of the vehicle. The fittings can be designed like a hinge so that a pin is inserted transversely to the direction of travel. However, the suspension is much simpler if one part of the fittings is designed as a hook into which the other is hung so that »the end part only needs to be raised slightly above the height at which it is in the operating position, and can then be easily hooked into the fittings, while the other type of attachment requires a very precise lifting of the end part to the height of the fittings. In an advantageous further development of the invention it can be provided that at least one latch lock that can be opened from inside the vehicle, preferably a pin lock, is provided. On the other hand, however, screws or bayonet locks which can be actuated from inside the end part can also advantageously be provided for locking and further support. An expedient embodiment of the invention in the region of the lower support and locking multiple plugs for the power supply of the necessary at the end portion or provided or consumer waste before branch boxes, z. B. for the electrical-pneumatic or hydraulic connections. The arrangement of these multiple plugs in the area of the lower support, z. B. especially centric or concentric is particularly advantageous because the end part is then able to make the connections for the power supply at the same time after hanging in the upper fittings and folding down. In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the end part can be designed to be more easily deformable than the middle part of the vehicle, whereby it is advantageously designed in such a way that, in the event of accidents with limited impact force, the impact energy is destroyed by deformation of the end part, without the middle part of the vehicle in 1, ditleidensc1Bft is drawn. Such an end part can very advantageously also be attached to a vehicle that is already not very short in order to increase the safety of the passengers. The end part can be provided with at least one bumper or a bumper bar, which is preferably tubular and is arranged at a distance from the end part. Such a bumper bar then fulfills two tasks. On the one hand, it keeps off light impacts and thereby prevents damage to the end part and, because of its distance from the end part, can be used very well as a carrying handle and for lifting. An end part according to the invention should extend over the entire width of the vehicle and can extend in height up to the rear window or just be arranged below the headlights. It can give a pontoon shape to a vehicle that is cut off relatively steeply just behind and / or in front of the passenger compartment or lengthen it to its full height at the rear. The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings of two exemplary embodiments and besehriebenb It shows: Figure 1 is a schematic side view of a passenger car; Fig. 2 the half top view in direction A, of a vehicle according to Pig. 1; Fig. 3 is a schematic 2eitenansicht a second embodiment and Fig. 4 is a half schematic front view in the direction B of the vehicle according to Fig. 3. The passenger car 1 of Fig. 1 usually ends with its rear end wall 2 just behind the only schematically indicated wheels 3 . the rear of the rear wheels so surmounted only as little as possible, while provided in this vehicle before the front wheels 4, a stem 5 istp the significant event of an accident allows deformation paths. The space between the front wheels 4 and the rear wheels 3 is completely taken up by the passenger compartment and little space remains for luggage.
wahlweise
benutzt werden. FUr verschiedene Fahrzeugtypen körmen gleiche Endteile benutzt werden. The end part 7, shown in greater detail, can be attached to the vehicle, which only reaches as far as the end wall 2 or the bumper 6 for city traffic, if the traffic conditions make it appear desirable or if luggage space is required. As can be seen from FIG. 2, the end part 7 extends over almost the full width of the vehicle and is equipped with the bumper 8 and a further license plate 9 . It complements the vehicle 1 , which has been cut off relatively steeply at the rear, into a pontoon shape. On the upper inner edge 10 of the end part 7 , so-hinge-like fittings 11 are attached at two points 10a which are as far away from each other as possible, the axis 12 of which is transverse to the direction of travel. In the direction of this axis, bolts 13 are inserted after lifting the end part 7 to the correct height. In the area of the lower inner edge 14, in the middle of the vehicle, a latch lock 15 designed as a mortise lock is arranged, which serves to etch the end part 7 and lock it. The latch 16 can only be actuated from inside the vehicle. * Directly next to or concentrically with the latch lock 15 are multiple plugs 17 , which are used to supply the lighting for the license plate, the rear lights 28 and possibly provided junction boxes for trailers or interior lighting for the end part 7 serve. When the end part 7 is pivoted about the axes 12, these multiple plugs are plugged into one another or separated from one another. The end part 7 is designed in the manner of a trunk and has an openable lid, not shown in detail. It extends in height to approximately the lower edge of the viewing panes, not shown. The embodiment according to the Pig. 3 and 4 has at its rear an end part corresponding to the shape of the end part 7 of FIGS. 1 and 2, but which is fastened to the vehicle body with differently constructed fittings. In the area of the edge 10 downwardly open hooks 18 are formed or arranged on the end part 7 , while on the vehicle body at a distance from the change wall 2 mounting brackets 19 are provided, into which the hooks 18 are hung from above, the end part 7 only needs something to be raised above its normal height, and the hooks 18 can then be hooked into the bracket 19 . The lower support 20 provides a spacer 21 with which the end part 7 is supported on the rear wall 2 or the nut 24. Screws 23 provided with handles 22 accessible from the inside of the end part 7 are screwed into corresponding nuts 24 locking is of undesired access from outside is not possible. the vehicle of FIGS. 3 and 4 except at its stern and at the bow with a removable end portion 25 verseheng wel, also not ches over almost the full width of the vehicle extends to extends to the height of the windshield, not shown, but ends below the headlights 26. It is connected to the vehicle structure in the same way as the two end parts described above. The invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments shown. In particular, a bumper surrounding the end part or several bumper bars can be arranged at a distance from the end part, so that they can also be used as Tragg reefs can be used. It is also particularly expedient to measure the strength of the end parts so that it is less than that of the passenger compartment walls, but the end parts must be designed in such a way that they absorb and destroy considerable impact energies in the event of deformation in the event of an accident. It is then possible to considerably increase the safety of passengers against injuries in rear-end collisions by additionally attaching end parts. Instead of the locks shown, bayonet locks can also be used. The rear additional end part can also extend over the entire height of the vehicle. For one type of vehicle, end parts of different lengths or otherwise differently designed end parts with the same design of the connecting parts can optionally be used. The same end parts can be used for different vehicle types.
