A preferred embodiment of the tie straps is shown in FIG. 2, 3, and 4 shown enlarged. The tie strap 2 has a long connecting part 4 which is connected to a short connecting part 5. That Belt end 4 is provided with a sleeve 6 surrounding it, which has an opening 7 in the middle and is freely movable along part 4. The belt end 4 is at equal intervals with in the transverse direction extending teeth 8, which together form a sawtooth pattern. These teeth 8 extend only partially below one side of the part 4. The belt end 5 has essentially the same width as the belt end 4 with the exception of the two protruding from the sides triangular wedges 9 and 10. The belt end 5 is also wedge-shaped and becomes gradually thicker in the direction of the free end, whereby it is at the Top is provided with three transverse teeth 11, which are approximately the same size as that Teeth 8 of the belt end 4. In front of the teeth 11 there is a cutout 12 reducing the cross-section, at which point the belt can be bent sharply, as will be described later. before this cutout 12 is a narrow part 13 of the belt, which is not important. Before this Part 13, however, the belt is provided on the side edges with two protruding bosses 14,15, which in Transversely protrude to a width that is slightly larger than the inside width of the sleeve 6. The humps 14,15 are intended to hold the sleeve 6 between itself and the connector end 5 after the sleeve is attached to the Bucking has been forced past.
The sleeve 6 is designed so that it fits together with the belt end 5. The lower wall of the sleeve is beveled on the inside at 6 a and has the same inclination as the lower wall 5 a of the belt end 5 (FIG. 5). The sleeve also has two wedge-shaped recesses 6 b and 6 c of the same size and shape as the laterally protruding triangular wedges of the belt end 5. The wedges 9 and 10 which fit into the recesses 6 b and 6 c prevent the free end of the belt from sliding off from the sleeve 6.
In use, a tie strap 2 is wrapped around a group of wires 1 as shown in FIG. After the sleeve 6 has been pushed past the bosses 14, 15, the free end 4 α of the belt end 4 is inserted into the sleeve 6 between the upper inner wall 6 e, the opening 7 and the top of the narrow part 13 of the tie belt 2. The end of the belt 5 is then drawn into the opening 7 of the sleeve 6 until the inclined underside 5 α touches the inclined inside 6 α of the lower wall of the sleeve 6. In this situation, the teeth 11 of the belt end 5 mesh with the teeth 8 of the belt end 4. The free end 4 α of the strap end 4 is then pulled through the sleeve 6 until the tie strap is tensioned enough to hold the wires 1 tightly together. This state is shown in FIG. 7, the tie belt in the region of the cutout 12 being shown bent sharply as a result of the tightness of the loop of the tie belt wrapped around the wires 1.
It should be noted that the bevel of the teeth 8 and 11 is dimensioned so that they are when tensioned of the tie strap can slide over one another without difficulty, but get caught in one another and after tightening, the tie belt slips back and the tension is released impede.
During the tensioning pulling of the binding belt causes the tension in the fastening belt, that the belt end 5 rests more firmly to the fastening belt on the part 4 a, so that the teeth 8 and 11 engage with each other more strongly, whereby it is achieved with certainty that the binding belt after tautening itself not loosening up again. After finishing the application and tightening the tie belt, the process shown in FIG. 7, the free end 4 α shown in dashed lines is cut off from the remainder of the tie belt in the area 4 b near the sleeve 6, so that the belt end 5 is finally the one shown in FIG. 1 in the case of the tie straps 2 is given a pleasing appearance.
