KAISERLICHESIMPERIAL
PATENTAMT.PATENT OFFICE.

The present invention relates to a further embodiment of that disclosed by patent 117531 protected procedure. In the patent 117531 a method for regulating the Supersaturation indicated when boiling syrups, with which in compliance an overconcentration, which BEZW after the purity of the syrup. Mother syrup changes, the grain formation and the rest Crystallization of the syrup is made with boiling. Under use that specified in patent 117531 Features and remedies can now also be purer sugar juices, such as. B. the syrup the raw sugar production or similar sugar solutions from the refinery for boiling reach. In this case, however, it is necessary to change such in the course of the work To create concentration ratios that one for grain formation and growth of the grain formed there is suitable supersaturation of the mother liquor.
The boiling of these purer juices on grain has hitherto been done according to the well-known Grain cooking method based on the external nature of the cooking masses. It yielded results which correspond to previous claims It was enough if skilful cookers did it. The regulation of oversaturation however, the external nature of the filling compound will always be imperfect, even with a skilful cooker. Even the overcooking with the help of certain empirical figures, as it is with the application of the so-called Brasmoskops, results in a very little regulated oversaturation in the filling compounds.
In the publications of the inventor in the Centralblatt für die Zuckerindustrie der Welt, 1894/95, 3rd year, p. 833 ff. And the magazine of the association for the beet sugar industry des Deutschen Reiches 1897, p. 799 ff. the supersaturation figures are given in tables, which in experiments after the previous boiling of the filling compound, the first product was present. It it can be seen from them how fluctuating the supersaturation ratios during the same periods of boiling and between the different south are, themselves if the stove is very careful.
Bei der Durchführung des Verfahrens werden die Übersättigungsverhältnisse in denThese inconveniences are avoided, a much more uniform grain is obtained, and you become completely independent of the uncontrollable dexterity of the cooker, when boiling purer sugar solutions using the means of the patent 117531 and under determination and use the supersaturation quotient, as it is necessary for such juices, is worked. When carrying out the procedure the supersaturation ratios in the

einzelnen Perioden der Verkochung in gleichbleibender Höhe gehalten, und zwar geschieht dies mit Hülfe des Kontrollapparates, durch welchen man imstande ist, die für die verlangte Übersättigung bezw. den durch diese bedingten Wassergehalt entsprechende Temperatur zu bestimmen.individual periods of overcooking kept at a constant level, and that happens this with the help of the control apparatus, through which one is able to do what is required for the Oversaturation resp. the temperature corresponding to the water content caused by this to determine.
Für die Dicksäfte der Rübenzuckerfabriken und Säfte ähnlicher Zusammensetzung ist beiFor the thick juices of the beet sugar factories and juices of a similar composition is at
As soon as this Oversaturation enough grain is formed, the oversaturation is set to 1.1 to 1.13, but do not decrease below 1.1. The latter happens because with the Temperature fluctuations, which are caused by changing evacuation, easily one Underconcentration and thus an attack on the grain could be brought about.
Gradually with the decreasing purity of the mother syrup due to the progressive crystallization the supersaturation quotient must be increased. This increase must be during of the overcooking done slowly and evenly until finally to 1.2 to avoid any formation of new crystals. When the quotient of 1.2 is reached, the boiling begins.
The purpose of the decoction is significantly different from that of the previous boiling. The purpose of boiling is to make the filling compound suitable for further processing. For this purpose the The purity of the mother syrup, which is still about 82 at the end of the boiling process, if possible be pushed further down quickly. Such accelerated crystallization can only be brought about when the supersaturation quotient is kept high, namely so high that new crystals would form from the mother syrup if there were no stimulating crystals would be present. Since the filling compound already contains around 50 percent crystals at the end of the boiling process, these will pull almost all of the sugar parts that want to crystallize out, so that new crystals hardly exist or only a few arise and the resulting grow only a little. The yield of sugar and its goodness will not influenced by these few crystals, which arise during the boiling process, because their weight is low and most of them fling through the sieves go through. In contrast, the acceleration of crystallization is at the high supersaturation quotient and the large number of excitation crystals very large. The purity of the mother syrup can be increased in 1 to 2 hours thus depressed to 78 to 75.
,The boiling begins, as I said, with the supersaturation quotient of 1.2, and this quotient increases with the decreasing purity of the mother syrup to 1.25, 1.30 and finally even increased to 1.35 when boiling with added syrup, as in patent specification 56867 is specified in order to loosen the existing fine grain and again to that in the filling compound to crystallize. So one cooks in almost the same way in these last periods as in rows a and b of the table (Fig. 3 of the main patent 117531). Of course you can completely replenish the boiled filling mass with the addition of increasing amounts of syrup or molasses the patent 117531 further process to to remove the sugar from the mother syrup to the molasses unit. ,
But if you stop boiling when you reach a supersaturation quotient from i, 3 to 1.35, so is the fill mass ready for processing on normal sugar first product.
The water content table below gives an example of how to cook of concentrated juices and similar juices can be carried out according to the present method can.

Sofort nach der Kornbildung geht man von Reihe a auf b bezw. a' auf c über und kocht nach jeder der Reihen c, d, e, f ungefähr je 1 bis 2 Stunden mit allmählichen Übergängen und nachThe table is used in accordance with that in FIG. 3 of the main patent 117531 shown water content table, only that the whole boiling process can be finished in 6 to 10 hours if one overcooked sugar on normal first product.
