Den Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung bildet ein feuerfester Stein, welcher zum Aufbau von Retorten u. dgl. geeignet ist. Die bisherigen steinernen Retorten haben den Übelstand, daß sie derartig dickwandig sind, daß die Wärmeleitung außerordentlich erschwert ist und die Retortensteine an der dem Feuer zugekehrten Seite allmählich verglasen und so die Wärmedurchlaßfähigkeit allmählich ganz verlieren. Die dünnwandigen Retorten, die man bisher verwendet hat, bestanden aus Gußeisen, doch haben diese wiederum den Fehler, zu verziehen und leicht zu springen sowie durchzubrennen, während sie andererseits den großen Vorteil der guten Wärmeübertragung darbieten.The subject of the present invention forms a refractory brick, which for construction of retorts and the like.
