Die dargestellten Spundschlüssel haben alle eine solche Construction, dafs dieselben bei Beginn der Arbeit dadurch, dafs zwei Hebel angebracht sind, durch welche leicht ein Festklemmen und Freimachen des Schlüssels bewirkt wird, den Fafsspund sofort festfassen und loslassen, ohne die Wandungen der Vertiefung im Spunde zu verletzen. Bei dem in der Zeichnung dargestellten Schlüssel, in welcher Fig. 1 die Ansicht von vorn, Fig. 2 den Durchschnitt nach Linie a-b, Fig. 3 die Ansicht von oben und Fig. 4 den Durchschnitt nach Linie c-d zeigt, ist das untere Ende des Cylinders e je nach der Form der Vertiefung im Spunde cylindrisch oder konisch geformt und am Umfange mit Zähnen versehen. Auf diese Weise halten die Excenter des Schlüssels den Fafsspund ohne weiteres so fest, dafs das Schliefsen des Spundes durch Zudrehen, ohne das Loch aufzureiben, bewirkt werden kann. Hält man den Hebel Ji, nachdem der Spund geschlossen ist, fest und bringt den Hebel i in die mittlere Stellung zurück, so ist der Spund von jeder Festklemmung wieder frei und der Schlüssel steht lose in der Vertiefung des Fafsspundes. Die Aenderung besteht darin, dafs an einem der expandirbaren Stücke ein Hebel angebracht ist, wodurch dieses Stück an und von der Wandung der Spimdvertiefung gedrückt werden kann. In Fig. 13 im Schnitt p-g und Fig. 14 im Schnitt r-s ist ein Schlüssel dargestellt, bei dem zwei expandirende Stücke auf schiefen Ebenen sitzen, welche am unteren Ende des Stiftes angebracht sind. Drückt man von oben auf den Schlüssel, so werden diese beiden Stücke nach aufsen geschoben und so gegen die Wandung des Spundes geprefst, wodurch derselbe festgehalten wird.
