In der Patentschrift 128253 wi'"d die Eigenschaft einer Anzahl organischer Siliciumverbindungen, bei Berührung mit "Wasser sich unter Bildung von Kieselsäure zu zersetzen, in be-. stimmter Richtung technisch nutzbar gemacht. Es wurde nun gefunden, durch dieselben organischen Siliciumverbindungen, welche die erwähnten Eigenschaften besitzen, noch in anderer Weise technischer Verwendung fähig sind. Man kann sie nämlich vorteilhaft dazu benutzen, um Anstrichmitteln aller Art eine erhöhte Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen die Einwirkung des Wassers dadurch zu verleihen, daß man ihnen Zusätze von geeigneten derartigen organischen Siliciumverbindungen gibt. Solche Zusätze können zu den verschiedensten Anstrichmitteln, Ölfarben, Lacken usw. gemacht werden, vorausgesetzt, daß solche kein Wasser enthalten und daß sie die anzuwendenden organischen Siliciumverbindungen aufzulösen vermögen. Anstatt letztere fertigen Anstrichmitteln usw. zuzusetzen, kann man auch so verfahren, daß man sie schon bei der Fabrikation von Anstrichmitteln als Zusätze verwendet, falls sie dabei nicht etwa. Zersetzung erleiden. Auf dem einen oder anderen Wege wird so eine neue Klasse von Anstrichmitteln erhalten, die sich durch ein besonderes Verhalten gegen Wasser auszeichnen. Solche Siliciumverbindungen sind beispielsweise das Siliciumtetraanilid und dessen zahlreiche Analoge, ferner das Siliciumdianilidodichlorid nebst seinen Analogen, sowie auch das Rhodansilicium.
