Auf dem hinteren Theil der in der Zeichnung dargestellten Maschine, rechts, befindet sich die Papierrolle, von der das Papier abgerollt und zunächst in einen Schlauch umgebildet wird. Ist dieser Papierschlauch durch das Walzenpaar C und die Abschlageisen d und du sowie unter der Walze e des Fünfwalzensystems D durchgegangen, so geht der an zwei Hebeln geführte Klebstoffbehälter G nieder und drückt das vordere Ende des Papierschlauches, indem er dasselbe umfalzt, zwischen das unter der Walze e liegende Walzenpaar, wodurch der Boden des Sackes gebildet und mit dem nöthigen Klebstoff versehen wird. Dies geschieht dadurch, dafs der Schieber r durch den Daumen i an der Axe / vermittelst der Zugstange 0 bei Umdrehung der Scheibe M auf- und niedergeht und so den Klebstoff unten am Klebstoffbehälter herausstöfst und auf den Boden des Sackes überträgt. Der Sack gelangt nun zwischen das untere mit Bändern versehene Walzenpaar und wird hier durch den Schlägel h, welcher sich in der Richtung des Pfeiles dreht, auf bestimmte Länge, welche durch die Wechselräder η η η regulirt wird, an den Abschlageisen d d1 vom Papierschlauch abgetrennt. Der fertige Sack läuft zwischen den Bändern in der Richtung des Pfeiles nach einem Trockencylinder. Der Schlägel h, welcher in dem Kreuzstück E drehbar, besitzt zwei daran befestigte Gleitstücke α und O1, wovon das eine stets abwechselnd während der Drehung des Schlägels an dem Ringstück L, welches an dem Lagerbock R angegossen ist, gleitet. Ist der Schlägel bei seiner Umdrehung in senkrechter Stellung angelangt, so streift das Gleitstück a die unten abgeschrägte Kante des Ringstückes L, wodurch der Schlägel bei seiner weiteren Umdrehung mit seinem vorderen Ende in die Längsrichtung der Maschine gestellt wird und so zwischen dem Gestell der Maschine frei durchgeht; ist derselbe in der unteren Stellung angelangt, so trifft das Gleitstück ax an das Ringstück Z, wodurch der Schlägel wieder umgestellt und in horizontaler Stellung bei den Abschlageisen wieder anlangt.
