Vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Heizwiderstand aus einem spiralförmig gewundenen Metalldraht oder Metallband und unterscheidet sich von den bekannten Heizwiderständen dieser Art dadurch, daß behufs Schaffung einer möglichst großen Berührungsfläche zwischen der Heizspirale und dem zu erhitzenden Körper erstere mindestens eine ebene Umgrenzungsfläche aufweist. Die Windungen der Heizspirale erhalten daher einen Querschnitt von dreieckiger, viereckiger usw.
