Zur Absperrung von Rohrleitungen, durch welche explosive Gase, Gasgemische oder Säuren geleitet werden, finden als Absperrorgane Schieber oder Ventile Verwendung, die vollkommen dicht sein müssen, um Ausströmungen der brennbaren Gase u. s. w. thunlichst auszuschliefsen.
