Will man das Siegel in kaltem Zustande verwenden, so läfst man zweckmäfsig die Pastille aus einem Gewebe bestehen und überzieht dieselbe mit einem Brotteig oder anderem klebenden Material, so dafs man zur Befestigung des Siegels dieses Material nur anzufeuchten braucht.
• Es ist ersichtlich, dafs man das Siegel aufser zum Verschlufs von Briefumschlägen auch zum Verschlufs von Flaschen, Kästen verwenden kann, in welchem Falle es als Plombe dient. Um die zu versiegelnden Gegenstände fest mit dem Siegel zu verbinden, kann man durch den Ueberzug an dem Gewebe einen Faden e befestigen , welcher bei Briefumschlägen dann durch den Brief gezogen wird (Fig. 3) und dann mit einem zweiten Siegel verbunden wird. Man kann auch, wie aus Fig. 4 ersichtlich, den Faden um den zu versiegelnden Gegenstand herumschwingen und sein anderes Ende ebenfalls an demselben Siegel befestigen.
