Gewisse Farbstoffe besitzen die Eigenschaft, die Emulsion (Gelatine) der photographischen Platten in der Kälte gleichmäfsig anzufärben und durch genügendes Waschen in der Kälte von der Emulsion abgezogen zu werden. Diese Eigenschaft der Farbstoffe kann dazu benutzt werden, exponirte Trockenplatten gegen den Einflufs des Tageslichtes unempfindlich zu machen. Färbt man nämlich eine in der Camera exponirt gewesene Platte hierauf mit der Lösung eines jener Farbstoffe, so wird die Platte lichtunempfindlich; sie kann alsdann dem directen Tageslicht ausgesetzt werden, ohne dafs das darauf enthaltene Negativ irgend welchen Schaden erleiden würde. Aber nicht alle Farbstoffe, welche gegenüber der Emulsion das gekennzeichnete Verhalten zeigen, machen die Platten lichtunempfindlich; in erster Reihe thun dies nur jene, welche die meisten chemisch wirksamen Lichtstrahlen zurückhalten; also Farbstoffe mit den Nuancen der ersten Spectrumsfarben die rothen, orangen und gelben Farbstoffe, sowie deren Mischungen.Certain dyes have the property of being the emulsion (gelatin) of the photographic To color plates evenly in the cold and by washing sufficiently in the cold to be withdrawn from the emulsion. Die Platten färben sich gleichmäfsig roth, rothgelb oder gelb an und sind in diesem Zustande lichtunempfindlich; sie können hiernach direct am Tageslicht entwickelt werden. Durch diese einfache Vorrichtung ist es möglich, ohne Dunkelkammer, also bei Tageslicht, zu entwickeln. Die nach dem vorstehenden Verfahren erzielten Bilder lassen an Schärfe und Klarheit nichts zu wünschen übrig und kommen in jeder Beziehung den in der Dunkelkammer hergestellten gleich.The camera contains a container into which the plates fall after they have been exposed.
