Bei weiteren Versuchen zur Ausbildung und Verbesserung des durch das Patent 130102 geschützten Verfahrens hat sich ergeben, dafs die AufschKefsung der Holzabfälle und Cellulose, sowie deren Verdaulichkeit und Bekömmlichkeit durch Vorbehandlung der Melasse mit anderen, zur Fütterung geeigneten Abfallstoffen noch günstiger als durch Melasse allein beeinfiufst wird. Als solche eignen sich besonders alle Nährstoff enthaltenden Rückstände des Brauerei-, Brennerei-, Kelterei- und Molkereibetriebes, sowie die der Zucker- und Stärkefabrikation, welche infolge ihres natürlichen öder durch Lagerung erzeugten oder vermehrten Säuregehaltes aufschliefsend wirken. Mit diesen Stoffen — vorzugsweise Gähr- und Kühlgeläge, Keime, Treber, Schlempe, Trester, Molken, Buttermilch, Rübenschnitzel — wird die Melasse, bevor sie mit den zerkleinerten Holzabfällen vereinigt und gekocht wird, gemischt. Sobald nun diese Mischung durch Lagern an der Luft event, in der Wärme genügend sauer geworden ist; wird sie den Holzabfällen zugesetzt und mit diesen längere Zeit gekocht.
