Jeder dieser Streifen α ist mit Löchern d versehen, mittels welchen sie auf Drähten e so an einander gereiht werden, dafs sich die Enden der Streifen gegenseitig übergreifen; auf diese Weise können sie zu einem Bande vereinigt werden, wobei auf der Oberfläche durch die in den Streifen befindlichen, in einer Richtung liegenden dreieckigen Aussparungen gewissermafsen Nuthen gebildet werden. Zur Ausfüllung der an den Längskanten des Bandes zwischen je zwei Streifen verbleibenden Lücken können kleine Lederröllchen f oder dergl. eingesetzt werden. Die Länge eines Bandes richtet sich in jedem Falle nach dem Umfange der damit zu bekleidenden Riemscheibe.
