Die Pumpe ist hauptsächlich dazu bestimmt, Wasser aus tiefen Brunnen und Schächten zu fördern, ohne dafs man nöthig hat, schwerfälliges Gestänge oder dergl. zu verwenden. Da der obere Kolbenkörper B gröfser. ist wie der untere J51, so drückt der Luftdruck den Kolben B nach oben und die Wassersäule wird gehoben.
