Fig. ι der Zeichnung), gegen die gewöhnlich in halber Höhe der Laterne befestigte Brennkappe α getrieben wird, damit die Flamme vor dem Scheinwerfer b steht, hat sich ergeben, dafs die Kerze bei hoher Lufttemperatur, z. B. im Sommer, zu warm wird und abträuft, bei niedriger Lufttemperatur, z. Im Falle eines Bajonettverschlusses kann der in der Kappe angebrachte, den Stift aufnehmende bajonettartige Schlitz zugleich zur Befestigung der Austauschkappe im Laternenraum dienen. Oder es kann, wie Fig. 2 zeigt, die .untere, mit grofser Oeffnung versehene Kappe Stifte e tragen, auf welche eine zweite Kappe f mit engerer Oeffnung ebenfalls mittelst Bajonettverschlusses aufgesetzt wird. Ebenso können die Kappen α und f auf den Kerzenhalter d aufgeschraubt (Fig. 3) oder sonstwie über einander befestigt werden. Endlich können, ähnlich den Kappen, welche bei Dochtlampen über den Docht geschoben werden, um die Flamme auszulöschen, verstellbare oder drehbare Segmente g g, wie Fig. 4 zeigt, angewendet werden.
