The present invention relates to a method for the production of silage by spraying the Feed stocks with agents that promote fermentation, in particular a mixture of water and molasses, with repeated use of the fermentation juice emerging from the feed stock in a circulation process.
In such a method, it is known to add more liquid than is necessary for preservation and to collect and reuse the excessively used liquid. This method is based on the knowledge that the liquid reduces the heating of the forage stock and at the same time ensures a certain weighting, which reduces the work involved in treading the silage, which at the same time expels the air from the silage. So far, the amount of spray liquid per cubic meter of silage has been kept relatively low, as it was believed that too much liquid would damage the silage and the resulting silage. The amount of spray liquid was in the order of 101 per m 3 of silage, in many cases considerably less. With such a treatment, the fermentation process was completed at the earliest after 6 weeks and the feed was suitable for feeding.
Damit wird erreicht, daß bei der nächsten Spritzung bereits Gärsaft vorhanden ist und daß die Gärung von oben nachThe present invention is based on the task of accelerating the ensiling process and to completely switch off the mechanical work for compacting the silage. The activity of people in the silo itself, which represents a considerable hazard, is completely switched off. This will according to the invention achieved in that the silage continuously with a considerable excess, at least 801 per cubic meter of the introduced plant material, of liquid is splashed. The minimum amount of The spray liquid depends on the degree of wilting of the silo. According to another feature of the invention a liquid mixture of 100 to 1501 per cubic meter is preferred for wilted plants sprayed on. The forage to be ensiled is brought into the silo in a wilted state, if possible, so that it is also absorbent. After filling up, a mixture of water and molasses is sprayed, the Z. B. has a ratio of 5 parts of water to 1 part of molasses. At the first spray a substantial part of the total amount of the liquid to be sprayed is applied, whereby the The feed stock begins to ferment slowly from bottom to top within 24 hours. This achieves that fermentation juice is already present at the next spray and that fermentation continues from the top

The feed stick sucks up a considerable part of the sprayed liquid, but part of the liquid passes through the feed stick into the collecting container, from which the spray liquid is pumped onto the silage. When spraying several times, fermentation juice has developed and accumulated in the container, which was already carried along with the liquid that had migrated through the feed stick and was partially absorbed during the second spray. This spraying process is carried out several times; By adding molasses to the fermentation juice, a slushy mass is created which fills all the cavities in the SiIofutter so that hardly any liquid escapes; the small part of the liquid that still escapes, which flows down into the collecting container, can be fed.
After completion of a filling or after exposure over a longer period of time with several fillings, preferably leafy hay (a layer up to 5 cm thick) is added. The hay closes the silo well at the top. The multiple spraying process described above can then be carried out. After the 3rd day from the start of spraying (i.e. with extensive daily spraying after the third spraying), the silage is cold, while a multiple of the time was required for the heat developed within the silage to be dissipated completely. There is also no need for pedaling while priming, as the great weight of the sprayed amount of liquid exerts a pressure on the feed stick that does not make it necessary to step on it during filling. Only after spraying could it be necessary to step back briefly in order to remove cavities that have formed on the top.
