Gemäß der Erfindung ist diese Aufgabe bei einer bekannten Kassette der eingangs genannten Art dadurch gelöst, daß an der Kassette mehrere, quer zur Filmlängsachse gegeneinander versetzt angeordnete Markierungen vorgesehen sind, die je einer von mehreren, in die Kassette einlegbaren Filmarten zugeordnet sind, und daß an mindestens einem Filmteil eine in Abhängigkeit von der Filmart an einer von mehreren quer zur Filmlängsachse gegeneinander versetzt vorgesehenen Anbringstellen angeordnete Markierung vorgesehen ist, wobei die Ausrichtung der am Film angeordneten Markierung auf eine der an der Kassette angeordneten Markierungen zur Anzeige der in diese eingelegten Filmart dient. Dadurch ergibt sich die vorteilhafte Möglichkeit, an einer einzigen Kassette mehrere, verschiedenen Artbezeichnungen entsprechende Markierungen, etwa in Form von Beschriftungen vorzusehen, wobei die Feststellung, welche der Markierungen oder Beschriftungen der Kassette in dem jeweils vorliegenden Fall die tatsächlich vorhandene Filmart angibt, in Zusammenwirkung mit der Markierung des Films getroffen wird. Man kann als Markierungen des Films einfache, beispielsweise optisch und/oder mechanisch feststellbare Unregelmäßigkeiten vorsehen, die etwa durch ihre Farbe, Anbringstelle od. dgl. mit einer der Markierungen der Kassette zusammenwirken und somit ausführliche Angaben über das Vorhandensein der jeweils zugeordneten Filmart vermitteln. Dadurch, daß erfindungsgemäß durch das Zusammenwirken von auf dem Film angebrachten Markierungen mit auf der Kassette angebrachten Markierungen die Filmart gekennzeichnet ist, ergibt sich also der Vorteil, daß der Film nur einfache Kodemarkierungen, beispielsweise in Form von Kerben, aufzuweisen braucht, die an einer vorbestimmten Stelle des Films angebracht sind, die sich beispielsweise auf eine zugehörige Markierung der Kassette ausrichten lassen. Die Bedienungsperson erhält hierbei, obwohl der Film nur mit einer einfachen Kodemarkierung versehen zu werden braucht, durch das Zusammenwirken dieser Kodemarkierung mit einer Markierung der Kassette die gewünschten Angaben in entschlüsselter Form. Durch die Erfindung braucht in äußerst vorteilhafter Weise nunmehr lediglich eine einzige Kassettenart 'vorhanden zu sein, auch wenn Filme verschiedener Art im Laufe der Zeit vom Benutzer verwendet werden. Die Filmherstellungsbetriebe brauchen für verschiedene von ihnen hergestellte Filmarten nicht mehr verschieden beschriftete oder etikettierte Kassetten zu erzeugen, sondern können sich in der Herstellung auf eine einzige Kassettenausführungsform für ein betreffendes Filmformat beschränken. Es ergeben sich geringere Herstellungs- und Lagerkosten.
