Der in der Patentschrift 100714 der Klasse 80 beschriebene Brennofen mit abfallender Zugrichtung zum Brennen mit reducirender Flamme und darauf folgender Rauchverzehrung dient mit seinem Unterofen zum Garbrennen von glasirtem Porzellan oder Bisquitporzellan, mit seinem Oberofen zum Verglühen des Porzellans. Viele Betriebe stellen aber nur Bisquitporzellan her, für welches das Verglühen, also das schwache Verbrennen im Oberofen unnöthig ist. Um nun auch im Oberofen Porzellan fertig brennen zu können, das neben Bisquitporzellan natürlich auch glasirtes Porzellan sein kann, ist die den Gegenstand dieser Erfindung bildende Ausgestaltung des in der Patentschrift 100714 beschriebenen Ofens zu einem Doppelofen erforderlich. Zu diesem Zweck kann einerseits der bisher als VerglUhraum dienende Oberofen wie der Unterofen mit einer entsprechenden Zahl von Feuerungen und Rauchverzehrungseinrichtungen versehen werden, wobei über diesem Oberofen noch ein Verglühraum angeordnet wird, andererseits können die Feuergase des Unterofens unter Umgehung desselben durch besondere Kanäle in den Oberofen geführt werden, um dort zum Brennen von Thonwaaren, Terracotten, Weichporzellan und dgl. nutzbar gemacht zu werden. Von den Feuerungen α des Unterofens führen Feuerkanä'le b (Fig. 1 und 2) in die mit den Rauchverzehrungseinrichtungen versehenen aufsteigenden Kanäle c, welche auf diese Weise die Feuergase des Unterofens unmittelbar in den Oberofen B leiten. Dabei werden die Feuerungen von dem unteren Ofenraum A durch Chamotteschieber d abgeschlossen, damit das nach der Gare des Unterofens fortgesetzte Feuer den Weg durch die Kanäle b nehmen mufs. Auf diese Weise erfährt die Gartemperatur des Unterofens keine weitere Steigerung, sondern sinkt während des Fortfeuerns für den Oberofen, da die Heifsgase durch die Oeffnungen q in der Ofensohle und die Rauchfüchse e weiter abziehen, wie dies in gleicher Weise bei dem Oberofen B durch die Kanäle / geschieht.
