Webstühlen ohne besondere Breithaltevorrichtungen, hergestellt werden können, wenn man dafür Kunststofffäden mit stärker ausgeprägtem, metallähnlichem Spannungs-Dehnungs-Diagramm verwendet. Die Papiermaschinensiebe gemäß der Erfinduntg, unterscheiden sich von diesen Geweben und Geflechten darin, daß die verwendeten Kunststoffäden sich dank ihrer besonderen Festigkeitseigenschaften wie Metalldrähte verarbeiten lassen, d. h. das Siebgewebe fertig mit der gewünschten Maschenbreite vom Webstuhl abgenommen werden kann und einer nachfolgenden Schrumpfbehandlung nicht mehr bedarf. Ab- gesehen von der vereinfachten Herstellung, insbesondere der Entbehrlichkeit teurer Einrichtungen zum Schrumpfen der teilweise sehr breiten Papiermaschinensiebe, läßt sich bei dem fertiggewebten Papiermaschinensieb nach der Erfindung die Genauigkeit der Verarbeitung erheblich besser beherrschen wie bei einem erst durch einen Schrumpfprozeß seine endgültige Struktur erhaltenden Gewebe.
