CLASS 85 «.
When water is sterilized by contact with ozonized air, it has been shown that that only a certain concentration of ozone in the air has a greater effect than that in the air Bacteria contained in water s. w. also has the effect that when air is used, the required ozone content, only a comparatively small part of the ozone is consumed while the rest escapes unused. The present invention seeks the disadvantage associated therewith that the Ozone apparatus must be comparatively large and one over what is actually necessary require far more extensive energy expenditure to avoid. The arrangement by which they achieving this is the following:
Atmospheric air is no longer introduced into the ozone apparatus as usual, but primarily the one that has already gone through the water sterilizer and air containing a lot of ozone when it emerges from it. This is in the ozone apparatus ■ brought back to the ozone content required for sterilization and then leaves back into the sterilizer. According to the consumption of oxygen System continuously or from time to time either some new atmospheric air or but pure oxygen or an air mixture rich in oxygen is supplied. The feed pure oxygen or oxygen-rich air mixtures are formed in the present The case is favorable at first, because if a circular process is not adhered to, the production costs would be increased the required oxygen far exceeds the practical value of this method exceed.
A water sterilization system using the new process is provided the accompanying drawing.
The centrifugal pump c lifts the water from the reservoir r to the sterilization tower s , which is a kind of scrubber through which the water slowly trickles down, while the ozonized air enters the tower from below and comes into contact with the trickling water . The water flowing out of the tower reaches the intermediate reservoir b, from which it is lifted by means of the pump d through the pipe m to the water tower w.
The circuit forming the subject of the present invention is maintained by the fan ν . This pushes the ozone-rich air emerging from the top of the sterilization tower through the pipe g to the ozone apparatus 0, in which the ozone content of this air is brought back to the high ozone content desirable for the sterilization.
Nach Mafsgabe des Verbrauchs an Sauerstoff in dem Sterilisationsthurm wird dem Kreislauf continuirlich etwas neue Luft zugeführt; zwischen dem Ventilator ν und dem Ozonapparat o, also an einer Stelle, an der immer ein geringer Ueberdruck gegenüber dem atmosphärischen Druck vorhanden ist, ist eine kleineDepending on the consumption of oxygen in the sterilization tower, some new air is continuously added to the circuit; between the fan ν and the ozone apparatus o, that is to say at a point where there is always a slight overpressure compared to atmospheric pressure, there is a small one
Opening t attached, something from which constantly. Air . emanates. Corresponding to this outflow, some fresh air is sucked in again by itself through the outer opening of the two-way cock, as can easily be seen. The two-way stopcock \ is used at the same time to regulate the amount of the sterilization tower durchfliefsenden air.
As already mentioned at the beginning, pure oxygen or oxygen can be used instead of atmospheric air an air mixture richer in oxygen, due to the circular process, is extremely profitable Way to be used to supplement the consumed oxygen.
Immediately before the ozone apparatus, a drying apparatus f ■ is switched on in the pipeline zweckmäfsig to the on passing through the Sterilisationsthufm strongly moistened air to escape the greater part of this moisture again.
It has been shown that the process on which the present invention is based not only. in the water sterilization shown in the drawing, but also in all other ozonization processes can be used with advantage.
