Aufserdem ist an der Vorderseite ein dünnes Plättchen e über die Verbindungsfuge gelegt, um ein theilweises Losgehen zu verhüten. Die beiden Theile sind endlich mit einander verleimt oder auf andere Weise constant an einander befestigt. Der untere Theil ist von der Zehe bis zur Ferse aus einem Stück hergestellt und besteht aus einem (unter hohem Druck hergestellten) Material von grofser Zähigkeit, Elasticität, Biegsamkeit und Leichtigkeit, wie z. B. aus mexikanischem Blockfilz.
