Description
Artificial chewing surface system So far, artificial molars are used replicated natural teeth. In use, however, the abrasion causes one Smoothing of the teeth on the chewing surfaces, so that over time when chewing does not have the cutting effect but the squeezing effect predominates. This makes it difficult to chop the food. In addition, when the teeth meet, there is an uncomfortable clattering Noise that alerts the neighbors to the presence of artificial teeth power.
In order to alleviate the above disadvantages, it was proposed many years ago not to imitate the natural teeth, but to replicate the artificial teeth a tooth with a convex occlusal surface compared to a tooth with a concave occlusal surface to deliver.
However, such chewing surface systems have not proven themselves in practice can prevail, since the beneficial properties are lost in use.
In these chewing surface systems, too, the abrasion caused over time a smoothing of the teeth on the chewing surfaces, so that the disadvantages described above hired again.
The invention also relates to an artificial chewing surface system, in which teeth with a convex occlusal surface are opposite to those with a concave occlusal surface. According to the invention, there are teeth with a convex chewing surface, in particular the chewing surface itself, made of a material of great hardness, e.g. B. porcelain, and the teeth with concave The chewing surface is made of a softer material, for example, as before, made of plastic. This not only avoids the smoothing of the teeth on the chewing surfaces, but In addition, the adjustment of new teeth is made easier, as it is now the case with the natural ones Chewing movement of the concave chewing surface of the softer teeth to the convex chewing surface of the is adjusted to harder teeth.
In Sonderfällen, z. In an artificial chewing surface system according to the invention it is possible that several teeth with a convex occlusal surface, for example the back four Molars, individually but in one piece according to the compensation curve (Articulation curve) set in the mean and the teeth with a concave chewing surface are adapted. The articulators commonly used up to now already have one Mean value of the compensation curve, but the dental technician has to go below great effort to fit the teeth accordingly. With an artificial chewing surface system according to the invention this work is considerably simplified. The hard teeth with convex occlusal surface remain unchanged and are therefore not processed, while the Occlusal surfaces of the softer, more concave teeth depending on the patient's articulation be adjusted. In the normal case it is so that the hard, convex teeth in the Lower jaw, the softer, concave teeth are arranged in the upper jaw. In Special cases, e.g. B. in a crossbite, the teeth can however also be fitted the other way round will.
It is especially beneficial when the hard teeth are concave Are chewing surfaces without fissures.
This makes cleaning the teeth much easier. These Teeth must not be processed even after insertion to keep the chewing surface unchanged to obtain. Only the opposing bite can be adjusted. The invention enables so an individual bite.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the figures.
F i g. 1 shows the rarer case in itself that an upper tooth is a Directly opposite the lower tooth.
One recognizes the convex upper tooth 1, which at least should consist of a material of great hardness at the chewing surface 1 a. Towards him stands the concave lower tooth 2, which consist of a softer material target.
F i g. 2 shows the more common case that the upper and lower teeth are against each other are offset. You can see two upper teeth 11 and 12 each with a convex chewing surface, the consists of hard material, as well as the lower tooth, which is made of softer material 13, which is provided with concave recesses 13 a and 13 b accordingly. Independent whether the convex teeth according to the embodiment in the upper jaw are arranged or in the lower jaw, it is essential for the invention that the convex teeth at least on the chewing surface a material great Hardness, the opposing teeth, on the other hand, are made of a softer material.
