-JVr 122190 KLASSE 296. -JVr 122190 CLASS 296.
Dieses letztere vollzieht sich in folgender Weise:The present invention relates to the manufacture of metal thread, which with a Cellulose coating are provided. The metal thread can consist of pure or silver-plated Brass, aluminum or any other metal. It is already known that objects by immersion in lacquers or. Colors can be provided with a more or less permanent coating. However, to a thin metal thread with a tightly fitting cellulose coating it is reddening to employ a very special procedure. This latter accomplishes in the following way:
The metal filament, whose thickness may vary between 1 mm and 5 J 1 Z 20 is pulled with great speed through a Collodiumbad, which is obtained by resolution of slant cotton in a mixture of alcohol and ether.
The nitrocellulose layer obtained in this way is kept more or less strong, depending on the Using the thread. The thickness of the layer can be increased by pulling the thread through more or less often the bathroom can be regulated. The thread obtained in this way can either be in liquors or by he goes through a dye bath again to be colored.
If the thread is covered with a layer of nitrocellulose, it is used to denitrify it and make less flammable in a bath of ammonium hydrosulfide (ammonium sulf trydrate) brought.
If a very flexible thread is required for certain purposes, one obtains this by placing it in a bath which is half water and half Contains glycerin.
In the drawing the apparatus for producing the collodinated thread is schematic shown.
From a bobbin b the thread passes through an inclined glass tube if into a container c, which contains the collodion, then passes over a porcelain roll ρ and leaves the container through a tube u, half of which has a 1 cm diameter hole inside of the container is, protrudes to the other half with a narrower hole over this. The thread is then guided vertically upwards and wound onto a bobbin g at a height of 12 to 15 m.
A warm air stream facilitates the quick drying of the cover. So it makes that Collodion creates a sheath around the metal thread.
Although the cellulose layer does not show strong adhesion to the metal thread, it will but held by their own cohesion and by the dry process! which causes that the cellulose clings tightly to the thread and forms a body with it forms.
The threads can be used for fabrics and ribbons for fashion goods and furniture, Tips, plaster ware, etc. Furthermore, the metal threads can be designed as thin ribbons and so around cotton or silk threads
wickelt werden, um dann weitere Verwendung zu finden.be wrapped in order to find further use.
